  • AZ-COM Maruwa plans JPYC Stablecoin payments for 2,300 logistics partners, investing ¥1 billion in the issuer.
  • JPYC Stablecoin, launched in October 2025, is yen-backed, blockchain-based, and regulated under Japan’s reserve requirements.
  • Lawson, LINE NEXT, and Metaplanet partnerships highlight expanding JPYC Stablecoin adoption across Japan’s enterprise payment ecosystem.

Japanese logistics company AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings plans to introduce the yen-backed JPYC stablecoin for payments across its logistics network, marking what could become Japan’s first large-scale corporate stablecoin deployment. According to reports, the company will use JPYC Stablecoin to pay around 2,300 partner carriers and independent truck drivers while investing ¥1 billion in the stablecoin issuer.

The initiative expands JPYC beyond retail pilots and cryptocurrency-related services into routine business settlements. AZ-COM Maruwa, which operates transportation, warehousing, and third-party logistics services across Japan, intends to strengthen its partnership with JPYC alongside the investment. Although the companies have not released an implementation timeline, the project signals growing institutional interest in regulated digital payment infrastructure within Japan’s logistics industry.

JPYC Moves Beyond Retail Into Enterprise Payments

The JPYC Stablecoin was released on October 27, 2025, as a regulated yen-backed digital asset pegged at one-to-one with the Japanese yen. The JPYC is built on public blockchain networks and may be issued through JPYC EX.

Alongside the payment rollout, AZ-COM Maruwa is considering a strategic partnership with JPYC Inc. and plans to invest approximately ¥1 billion (around $6.2 million) in the stablecoin issuer. The investment would strengthen collaboration between the logistics company and JPYC as they expand stablecoin use in commercial payment systems.

The launch of the proposed system will be considered a test of whether regulated stablecoins are able to provide an efficient means for corporate settlement at a massive scale. Unlike previous experiments with stablecoins in the consumer market, the AZ-COM Maruwa network consists of numerous transport enterprises and independent drivers. The experiment might show whether blockchain payments lead to better settlement processes, lower processing times, and simpler transactions within the large-scale supply chain if participants utilize JPYC instead of exchanging it for yen.

Japan Accelerates JPYC Stablecoin Adoption

The logistics project is preceded by a number of events that contribute to the spread of JPYC throughout the country. Convenience store chain Lawson wants to introduce JPYC payments using smartphone-based point-of-sale systems, while LINE NEXT is going to incorporate the stablecoin into the Unifi Pay system. In addition, Metaplanet and JPYC are exploring Bitcoin-backed lending instruments to be settled with JPYC.

Such events are in line with the overall approach of the country to the development of digital assets within a well-defined legal environment. The successful deployment of the JPYC Stablecoin by AZ-COM Maruwa could become a catalyst for widespread adoption of regulated stablecoins for enterprise payments in Japan.
