Ethereum Price Gains Long-Term Strength

A well-known crypto analyst, Crypto Patel, provided his opinion on Ethereum for the long term, stating that many investors believe the Ethereum price will hit the $700 to $1,000 price level before turning positive.

In the opinion of Patel, it could turn out to be a costly mistake for them if ETH never reaches those levels. In that case, it would be interesting to find out if people will keep on waiting or start buying ETH after it reaches $5,000.

As Patel mentioned, “Investors place a great deal of emphasis on capturing the bottom and wait for another 30%-50% drop in value before getting into the market.” According to him, this kind of behavior is mostly driven by emotions rather than an investment strategy.

Patel instead recommended that investors with a three-to-five-year time frame might do better by slowly adding exposure to their holdings when the markets were not clear.

Temporary Pullbacks Still Possible

Nevertheless, with a positive attitude towards the future prospects of the Ethereum price, Patel also recognized the possibility of yet another significant correction in its price in the future.

At the same time, he noted that the price falls should be used as an opportunity for purchasing the asset rather than avoiding it.

Crypto Patel pointed out the things that supported the long-term view on Ethereum: increasing institutional interest, long-term money being attracted by spot Ethereum ETFs, and Ethereum being the leading network for DeFi, stablecoins, real-world assets tokenization, and on-chain financial applications. He also noted that professionals tend to get long before the market gets excited.

Ethereum Price Holds Above Important Technical Levels

On a technical basis, there are still some positive signs emerging from the Ethereum price.

ETH is presently trading higher than its 20-day SMA level of $1,797.53 and the 50-day SMA level of $1,731.95, which shows that buyers are defending their support lines.

Despite that, Ethereum is still trading below the 100-day SMA of $1,986.81 and 200-day SMA of $2,178.17, implying that the overall trend has not yet made a full transition into an outright bullish phase. A clear breakout of the 100-day SMA level will improve the prospects for further recovery and bring more buyers.

Moreover, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) is currently trading at the 59.09 level above its signal level of 57.91. It implies that the buying pressure is slowly getting stronger without exceeding the overbought level of 70.
