  • Users are urged to trust only Glassnode’s official domain for communications.

Glassnode, a leading crypto market data and analytics provider, warned customers on Wednesday that a security incident may have exposed user email addresses, raising concerns about potential phishing attacks targeting crypto investors.

Glassnode said its investigation is ongoing and that it has not yet determined the full scope of the data that may have been exposed. The company has not disclosed how many users may have been affected.

What Did Glassnode Say About the Security Incident?

In a notice sent to customers, Glassnode urged users to be wary of unsolicited emails, links and attachments, warning that attackers could attempt to impersonate the company following the incident.

The analytics provider said its only official email domain is glassnode.com and reiterated that it does not operate a customer support phone line, meaning any communication referencing one should be treated as fraudulent.

The company said it would issue further updates if customers need to take additional action, and directed questions to support@glassnode.com.

Discussion of a possible Glassnode data exposure intensified after a Reddit user reported receiving a phishing email at an address used solely for their Glassnode account.

The user’s claim could not be independently verified, but it drew attention from members of the crypto community before Glassnode issued its security notice.

Why Are Crypto Users Frequent Targets of Phishing Attacks?

Phishing remains one of the most common threats facing crypto users, with attackers often impersonating trusted companies to obtain account credentials, wallet access or seed phrases.

Security incidents involving customer databases often increase phishing risks, even when financial information is not exposed. Attackers frequently use leaked email addresses to impersonate trusted crypto companies and distribute fraudulent links or malware.

Why This Matters

The incident highlights how even limited customer data exposure can create security risks for crypto users. Email addresses linked to crypto services are frequently used in targeted phishing campaigns designed to gain access to accounts and digital assets.
