How Bitget Strengthens Compliance in New Zealand

Bitget became a member of New Zealand’s Insurance and Financial Services Ombudsman Dispute Resolution Scheme. This scheme provides customers with an avenue to make their complaints.

Furthermore, it facilitates disputes between consumers and financial service providers involved in the program.

The registration forms part of Bitget’s compliance and operation strategy. The firm is working on systems, machinery, and other tools required for various financial services.

These include services offered through conventional market instruments, foreign currency instruments, and tokenized real-world assets.

Gracy Chen, the CEO of Bitget, stated that financial service platforms should have compliance mechanisms that handle more assets and services.

“The registration adds another layer to our international financial services framework as the platform continues connecting digital assets with established markets.” Chen added.

What Bitget’s Universal Exchange Model Offers

The firm is developing the Universal Exchange model, which is commonly referred to as the UEX design. The system is designed to enable various types of assets to be exchanged on the same platform.

These include cryptocurrencies, tokenized securities, commodities, foreign exchange products, and other financial products.

According to CoinMarketCap data, Bitget is the world’s sixth-largest crypto exchange. The platform has a daily trading volume of $402 million. This scale is in line with the efforts of the company to seek registrations and approvals from different jurisdictions.

In June 2025, Bitget acquired regulatory approval to operate in Georgia. In that country, the permission is given for both digital asset exchange and custodial wallet services.

Who Will Lead Bitget’s European Expansion

Additionally, Archax, a related company of the platform, is authorized by the United Kingdom’s Financial Conduct Authority.

The company is registered with Italy’s Organismo Agenti e Mediatori. It is also registered as a virtual asset service provider in Poland, Bulgaria, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic. These registrations are among the existing regulatory activities of the firm in Europe.

In January, the firm announced plans to establish its European headquarters in Vienna, Austria. The exchange appointed Oliver Stauber as chief executive of its operations in Europe. He was the former legal chief of Bitpanda.
