Stock futures edged higher Friday morning as oil prices pulled back, easing inflation concerns that had been weighing on markets. A packed week of tech earnings kept traders busy, with several names making sharp moves before the opening bell.

Intel (INTC) was one of the standout performers, trading up around 4.8% in premarket after posting Q2 revenue of $16.1B — a 25% jump year over year. That beat analyst expectations across revenue, EPS, and gross margin. The adjusted gross margin came in at 41.8%, also above estimates.

For Q3, Intel guided for revenue of $15.8B to $16.8B and adjusted EPS of $0.38, both ahead of what Wall Street had penciled in. Management pointed to accelerating demand across CPU, foundry, and advanced packaging tied to AI workloads.

Not every chip name caught a bid off Intel’s results. Micron slid 1.8% and Sandisk (SNDK) fell 2.4% in premarket, with neither getting much lift from Intel’s beat.

SAP Beats and Raises, Cloud Backlog Climbs

SAP (SAP) gained 6.1% after the German software giant beat Q2 EPS estimates and reported 24% cloud revenue growth. Cloud backlog rose 26% year over year, topping forecasts.

The company raised its 2026 cloud and software revenue outlook above consensus. Management credited strong adoption of its Autonomous Enterprise strategy and growing demand for its Business AI Platform. The results also helped calm some nerves around whether AI was a threat or tailwind for enterprise software.

Safety Insurance (SAFT) was the biggest mover of the session, surging 42% after agreeing to be acquired by Mapfre in an all-cash deal worth roughly $1.54B. Shareholders will receive $105 per share — a 44% premium to the prior closing price. The deal is expected to close in Q1 2027, pending regulatory sign-off.

Amkor Technology (AMKR) popped 9% on news of a multi-year partnership with Nvidia (NVDA). Under the deal, Nvidia will pay Amkor upfront to expand advanced packaging capacity in Arizona, aimed at boosting U.S. AI chip production.

Deckers Slips Despite Record Quarter

Deckers Outdoor (DECK) fell around 2.9%-3% even after posting its first-ever $1B quarterly revenue quarter. HOKA and UGG both drove the result, with gross margin expanding to 56.4%.

The problem was guidance. Deckers raised its full-year profit outlook, but the new target still came in below what analysts were expecting — enough to push the stock lower.

Newmont (NEM) was a quieter mover, climbing 1.1% after beating Q2 earnings expectations. Cost controls helped the gold miner offset softer bullion prices and the impact of an earthquake.

MaxLinear (MXL) was an odd loser, dropping 10% despite beating Q2 estimates and guiding Q3 revenue of $210M-$220M — well above the $173.8M consensus.
