Bitcoin’s options market is showing signs of shifting sentiment as defensive positioning unwinds. The put/call ratio has dropped sharply to around 0.52 from 0.76 in late June, indicating a move away from bearish bets.

The 25-delta skew has also seen a notable decrease, with the one-week skew dropping near 4%, while longer-dated options maintain a defensive premium. This suggests near-term downside hedging is unwinding, but caution remains for the longer term.

Implied Volatility Remains Compressed

Implied volatility for Bitcoin options remains compressed, with short-term volatility at 34.3% compared to 40.8% for six months. This indicates that while the market is discounting near-term risks, uncertainty persists for the longer term.

Market Context and Outlook

As Bitcoin trades near $64,280, the shift in options sentiment could signal a more bullish outlook, albeit with caution. With market sentiment still in Fear territory, any positive move may be amplified as traders adjust their positions.
