It was the first negative day for the category since July 13. Despite the single bad day, the funds still finished the five-day week roughly $274 million higher.

BlackRock’s IBIT was responsible for most of the damage, losing $202.5 million. Fidelity’s FBTC, Bitwise’s BITB, ARK 21Shares’ ARKB, Franklin Templeton’s EZBC, and WisdomTree’s BTCW all posted smaller losses. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT was the only fund to add inflows, pulling in $5 million.

Iran War Pressures Crypto Markets

The outflows came as U.S. stocks fell on Thursday, driven by the ongoing U.S.-Iran military conflict, now in its fifth month. Oil prices remain elevated, raising inflation concerns and fueling speculation about a possible Fed rate hike.

Bitcoin briefly slipped under $65,000, touching $64,600. The price sits under what traders call a death cross — a chart pattern where the short-term average price falls below the long-term average, often seen as a bearish signal.

The Crypto Fear & Greed Index dropped three points to 28, its lowest reading of the month.

Crypto analyst Ali Charts posted a key level to watch. He noted that if Bitcoin holds $63,800 as support, a rebound toward $67,000 is possible. If that level breaks, he sees the next downside target at $60,000.

Fed Decision Looms Large

Trump reportedly ordered the U.S. military to pause strikes on Iran after 13 consecutive days of attacks. The halt came as Omani officials met with Iranian representatives in Tehran to discuss reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Despite the pause, tensions remain high. Houthi involvement in the Bab al-Mandab Strait continues to disrupt shipping routes.

Bitcoin is currently trading around $64,300, up less than 1% on the day.

Ethereum ETFs moved in the opposite direction, adding $26.3 million on Thursday and extending their inflow streak to five days.

The next key event for Bitcoin is the Federal Reserve’s July 28-29 meeting. CME FedWatch data shows markets expect rates to hold steady, but Polymarket puts the odds of a rate hike sometime this year at 72%.
