AAVE price traded near $97.47 after Aave announced plans to reduce support for low-usage assets and blockchain deployments. The token recovered from a sharp decline toward $96 and gained about 0.84% during the latest four-hour candle.
The price now faces resistance near the 20-period exponential moving average at $97.63. A clear move above this level could support a push toward $98.50 and the key $100 mark.
Aave Plans Broad Protocol Restructuring
Aave founder Stani Kulechov said the protocol will gradually end support for 50 asset reserves with limited usage. BlockBeats reported the announcement on July 30 after Aave completed a review of its supported markets.
After a comprehensive review, Aave is deprecating 50 low adoption asset reserves across multiple deployments.
In addition, Aave is orderly winding down deployments on Sonic, Scroll, zkSync, Metis, Soneium, and Aptos, covering another 25 asset reserves.

The lending protocol will also phase out deployments on Sonic, Scroll, zkSync and Aptos. The planned changes cover 25 asset reserves across the four blockchain networks.
Aave will remove expired Pendle principal token assets from its supported markets. The protocol plans to replace them with similar PT assets that carry updated maturity dates.
AAVE Price Holds Above Key Support Levels
The AAVE price remains above the 50-period EMA at $96.56. It also trades above the 100-period EMA at $95.00 and the 200-period EMA at $91.95.
These moving averages now form support below the current price. Buyers must push AAVE above $97.63 to strengthen the recovery, targeting $98.50.
A sustained move above $98.50 could bring the $100 level into view. However, another rejection near the 20-period EMA may send the token toward $96.50 or $95.00.
The Stochastic RSI stands near oversold territory. Its two readings sit at 14.76 and 7.13, showing that recent selling activity pushed momentum to low levels.

The indicator has started moving upward from the oversold area. This change suggests that sellers may be losing control during the short-term recovery.
The signal does not confirm a full breakout. AAVE still needs stronger buying volume and a close above nearby resistance to support further gains.
Derivatives Traders Remain Cautious
AAVE open interest declined from about $149.4 million to $148.4 million during the past 24 hours. The price rose toward $97.21 during the same period.

The difference suggests that some traders closed positions as the price recovered. It also shows that new leveraged positions did not enter the market at a strong rate.
Liquidation data showed heavier losses among long traders. One long-liquidation spike reached nearly $85,000, while other clusters stood near $43,000 and $48,000.

Short liquidations remained lower overall, although one event approached $45,000. AAVE bulls now need to defend support and clear $97.63 before making another attempt at $100.
