Pi Network has set August 11 as the deadline for Mainnet validators to complete the protocol version 26 update. The announcement also confirms that version 25 has already reached the network, despite the Core Team not issuing a separate deployment notice.

At the same time, PI price has recovered from its recent market decline. The token traded near $0.082 on Thursday after buyers defended an important support area and pushed the price above a short-term resistance line.

Pi Network Moves Toward Protocol Version 26

Pi Network asked all Mainnet validators to complete the required steps for version 26 before August 11. Validators must install the update to remain connected to the blockchain and continue supporting network operations.

The Core Team described version 26 as a major step before the final planned update, version 27. The network has completed eight upgrades in recent months as developers work to add newer protocol features and improve blockchain performance.

Version 25 Deployment Appears Complete

The Core Team previously gave validators until July 22 to complete protocol version 25. However, it did not publish an official notice confirming the update through its website or social media accounts.

Several community reports later indicated that validators had already moved to version 25. The announcement of version 26 now confirms that the earlier update was completed and that the upgrade process has entered its final stages.

The current upgrade series began in February with version 19.6. Pi Network then introduced several updates before reaching versions 25 and 26.

PI Price Breaks Short-Term Resistance

PI price traded near $0.082 after recovering from the sharp decline recorded earlier in July. Buyers managed to push the token through a descending resistance line, although the wider market structure remains weak.

The former resistance area near $0.096 now represents the first recovery target. A move above this level could allow PI to test the 50-day Exponential Moving Average at $0.104.

Further resistance appears near $0.118 and the 100-day EMA at $0.125. The 200-day EMA at $0.165 remains a stronger barrier for any extended recovery.

The Relative Strength Index stands near 37, showing that selling pressure has eased but buyers remain cautious. The indicator has started moving away from oversold levels after PI’s recent decline.

The Moving Average Convergence Divergence indicator has also turned slightly positive. This change points to improving short-term momentum, although it does not yet confirm a wider trend reversal.

Support remains near $0.075. PI could stay within a consolidation range if buyers continue defending this level. A sustained move below it could expose the token to another decline, while a break above $0.096 may strengthen the current recovery.
