For a company sitting on enormous cash reserves, issuing debt might raise eyebrows. But Alphabet is in the middle of one of the biggest infrastructure buildouts in tech history. During its Q2 earnings report, it raised its 2026 capital expenditure forecast to between $195 billion and $205 billion.

That spending is going toward data centers, server capacity, and semiconductor infrastructure to power its Gemini AI models and Google Cloud services.

The bond offering is structured across 10 tranches to appeal to a wide range of fixed-income buyers. Short-end two-year notes are priced at around 60 basis points over U.S. Treasuries. The ultra-long 40-year tranche, maturing in August 2066, carries initial pricing discussions of around 155 basis points over Treasuries.

The debt is registered with the SEC as senior unsecured notes and is expected to carry Aa2/AA+ ratings.
