What to know:

  • Pi Network listing remains uncertain as Binance and Coinbase have yet to announce plans or a timeline for PI.
  • Binance’s 2025 community poll reportedly saw 86.8% support for listing PI, but the exchange has not proceeded with a listing.
  • Concerns around compliance, code auditing, token distribution, and future unlocks may be influencing major exchanges’ decisions.

Pi Network’s exchange-listing issue remains ongoing, as Binance and Coinbase have yet to list PI. The token is already available for trading on exchanges including OKX, Gate, MEXC, and Kraken. However, neither Binance nor Coinbase has provided a concrete timeline for a potential PI listing.

The matter has certainly received a lot of interest from the Pi community. Nevertheless, the listing of tokens is not only dependent on the demand of the users but on several factors as well.

Binance and Coinbase Listing Plans

The exchange conducted a community voting poll in February 2025, where approximately 226,000 votes were said to have been cast. Of those votes, about 86.8% voted in favor of listing PI tokens. Binance never went ahead to list the token despite the results.

Coinbase has been more reserved in its handling of PI tokens. There has been no community voting poll on listing PI tokens on the Coinbase platform.

Bybit has taken a different stance. Bybit CEO Ben Zhou said in early 2025 that Pi was a scam based on a 2023 warning from Chinese police. Pi Network denied being a scam, and Bybit has not changed its stance.

Why Is PI Still Missing?

Neither Binance nor Coinbase has made known the exact reasons why they haven’t listed PI tokens. However, some issues keep coming up in the discussion.

Criticism has been raised regarding the auditing of Pi’s code. Compliance issues are another key concern. Token concentration/distribution and future token unlocks are also relevant.

The uncertain regulatory environment might cause major exchanges to be more cautious about listing PI. Currently, PI is being traded at $0.09179, while its volume is down by 29.89%.

Pi Community Focuses on Utility

There is still a debate among members of Pi regarding the listing. One group considers that it is possible that Binance is wary due to Pi’s huge customer base. The other thinks that regulations and compliance issues have more merit.

Another faction believes that a listing on Binance or Coinbase would enhance liquidity and accessibility but still could not demonstrate the success of an economy created by Pi.

For them, actual use cases carry greater weight. Adoption can be demonstrated through businesses adopting PI, developing applications, and conducting transactions with the coin.

New Utility Could Help Pi Network

The Pi Network is also associated with new developments regarding its new use cases. The reported partnership with RoboPay would enable PI coin users to make payments for real-world services offered by robots, and hence another use case for the coin in the machine economy.

The Protocol 26 update is yet another development in the network. But the value of these developments depends on the use made of them.

For now, there is no confirmation from either Binance or Coinbase for the listing date. Listing on such a reputable exchange will certainly help improve liquidity and awareness, but the main task of the Pi Network is to transform its community into economic activity.
