What to know:

  • PumpFun fees crossed $10 million for the first time in a week, rising 12% as trading activity strengthened across its ecosystem.
  • Pump.fun generated $35.67 million in 30-day revenue, surpassing Hyperliquid’s $32.46 million, according to DeFiLlama.
  • The platform spent about $5.02 million buying and burning 2.15 billion PUMP tokens, supporting its deflationary strategy.

PumpFun fees increased by 12% compared to last week, driven by increased trading volumes on the launchpad, PumpSwap exchange, and the Terminal trading product. The network called Aug. 3-9 its “first week above $10M.”

DeFiLlama has reported high income as well, reporting $10.49 million generated by Pump.fun within seven days, even though DeFiLlama measures it differently.

PumpFun Fees Move Ahead of Hyperliquid

“Pump.fun stated that the revenue generated in 30 days exceeded Hyperliquid’s revenue.” According to DeFiLlama statistics, the revenue earned by Pump.fun was “$35.67 million,” while Hyperliquid’s revenue stood at “$32.46 million.”

However, it is necessary to look at the revenue carefully, as both protocols generate their revenue differently. The revenue of Pump.fun includes the fees of the bonding curve, PumpSwap, and Terminal.

According to Pump.fun, there was an ecosystem trading volume of $2.97 billion for the week. The bonding curve accounted for $751.6 million, while PumpSwap made $2.22 billion.

This growth in PumpFun Fees happened amid the highest trading week on the platform since late January.

PUMP Buybacks Reach $5 Million

$5.02 million worth of investment was spent by Pump.fun in buying and burning roughly 2.15 billion PUMP tokens over the seven days. 50% of the profits made on the platform will go into buying back and burning the PUMP tokens through a locked smart contract.

As per the report of Pump.fun, cumulative buys and burns have already covered 15.7% of the total supply of the token. According to DeFiLlama, there was roughly $5.16 million worth of investment through the burn process over the latest seven-day span.

PUMP Gains Ahead of August 12 Unlock

At the time of writing, PUMP is trading at $0.002873, having gained some 28.45% in seven days and over 106% in 30 days. The circulating market capitalization of the coin had risen to roughly $1.1 billion, despite still being 68% below its all-time-high from September 2025.

The latest PumpFun Fees upgrade is not an obvious factor behind this price surge since several events were happening simultaneously.

Focus now shifts towards the Aug. 12 token unlock. As per DeFiLlama, there are 4.167 billion PUMP in circulation for the team, and another 2.708 billion for the investors, for a total of 6.875 billion tokens, worth about $19.2 million. The unlock is for 1.75% of the circulating supply.

On Aug. 7, pump.fun launched social trading, with features such as token mentions, zero-fee trading, and cross-chain trading with USDC.

However, there has been a legal case from the United States against the platform, alleging securities violations. All the allegations are currently just that – allegations.

The next big question will be whether the trading volume can continue to justify PumpFun fees.
