  • Tech funds have drawn a record $131 billion in 2026 as Inflows top the 2025 full-year record by about $50 billion.
  • The current pace points to $216 billion in annualized inflows.
  • US equity fund inflows reached a record $652 billion this year.

Global technology funds have drawn a record $131 billion in inflows during 2026, according to EPFR data. The total already exceeds the previous full-year record by about $50 billion. That comparison places the 2025 peak near $81 billion and confirms a fourth consecutive annual increase.

Notably, the chart annualizes the pace to roughly $216 billion by year-end. That figure represents a projection, not completed inflows. It assumes investors maintain the pace recorded during the year to date. The red 2026 line therefore separates actual flows from the possible full-year total.

Technology Fund Inflows Break the 2025 Record

The Kobeissi Letter shared the chart on X, highlighting record technology fund inflows from 2015 through 2026. Each line represents one year, allowing comparisons between yearly patterns. The vertical scale runs from negative $10 billion to $240 billion.

Earlier yearly lines cluster within a narrower range. Annual totals from 2015 through 2019 generally finish between zero and roughly $30 billion. The 2017 and 2018 paths rise gradually, while several earlier periods spend time near the zero line.

Inflows become larger after 2020. The path for 2020 rises to ~$65B, then pulls back to flat by the end. The path for 2021 hits ~$55B after starting slightly below zero, then 2022’s path pulls closer to $25B

The chart records another upward sequence from 2023. That year approaches $45 billion, followed by about $55 billion during 2024. The 2025 line then accelerates toward approximately $80 billion, setting the record that 2026 has already surpassed.

The 2026 Line Separates From Earlier Years

Meanwhile, the red 2026 path shows a steeper slope than every previous annual line. It starts near the baseline before moving toward $30 billion. The path then rises sharply through the $90 billion and $140 billion levels.

The final segment points toward the labeled $216 billion annualized figure. This projected level stands more than twice the approximate 2025 total. It also exceeds the chart’s $190 billion marker and approaches the upper $240 billion boundary.

Current inflows of $131 billion sit roughly $85 billion below the annualized projection. To hit $216B, we need an additional $85B in net inflows from this point on. Whatever remaining balance still needs to be raised falls on continued inflows and any withdrawals taken out before December

Nevertheless, the chart measures flows rather than investment returns. Rising technology share prices do not directly produce the reported total. The figures track money entering and leaving technology-focused funds during each measured period.

Broader US Equity Funds Extend Their Record

Additionally, US equity funds attracted $9.6 billion during the most recent week. That increase lifted their 2026 inflows to a record $652 billion. The wider equity total substantially exceeds the $131 billion allocated to global technology funds.

Technology funds account for about 20% of that reported US equity inflow figure when comparing the two totals. However, the categories differ in scope. Technology data covers global sector funds, while the broader measure covers funds focused on US equities.

The technology series now records annual increases across 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026. Its 2026 path has also reached the highest cumulative point shown before annualization. Underlying flow numbers come from EPFR, while the chart and annualized computation come from Bank of America Global Investment Strategy.
