Christy Knowings, an ensemble cast member on the hit Nickelodeon sketch comedy series All That, has died.
Knowings suffered an asthma attack on Friday, which led to brain damage, a family member told TMZ. The family member told TMZ that Knowings died on Tuesday night in a Los Angeles-area hospital after being removed from life support. She was 46.
Knowings played various characters on the popular Nickelodeon’s kids show over three years and 32 episodes, from 1997 to 2000. All That featured several notable cast members, including Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell.
Thompson, who went on to star as ensemble cast member on Saturday Night Live, wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday, “Man this one hit hard!!! Rest well Christy!!! Never could have imagined this day!! Sending so much love to her family!! She was a real one and one of the funniest people out here!!! Gonna miss you buddy!!!”
According to TMZ, Knowings got her break to star on All That after appearing in the Rosie O’Donnell sketch comedy And Now This for Nickelodeon.
Knowings was born Feb. 25, 1980, in the Bronx, New York. The actress’ screen debut was in a guest role in the FOX series New York Undercover in 1994. Her last credited role was in Sesame Street, in which she appeared alongside her twin brother, Chris Knowings, over three episodes from 2008 to 2011. Chris Knowings appeared frequently on Sesame Street, appearing in 109 episodes from 1996 to 2024.
