The secret to the success of his career has been that almost all of his smashes are radio-friendly and family-friendly, but just funky enough to appeal to a wide audience.
Mars returned earlier this year with “I Just Might,” which fronted his then-upcoming album The Romantic, his first solo full-length in nearly a decade. That tune continues to perform well, especially on Billboard’s R&B tallies, but Mars moved on a few months later to “Risk It All,” the second promotional cut from his latest set.
This week, “Risk It All” rises to No. 1 on one of the most competitive charts published in America. As the singer-songwriter collects another champion, he moves out of a tie with one of the most successful hitmakers of all time and nears a historic record.

“Risk It All” rises to No. 1 on the Radio Songs chart this week. The ranking measures the songs that generate the largest audiences across radio stations that focus on any and all formats throughout the United States. The single lifts from No. 3 and conquers the roster in its twentieth frame.
Bruno Mars Scores His Twelfth Radio No. 1
“Risk It All” becomes Mars’s twelfth No. 1 on the Radio Songs chart. He now claims the second-most leaders in the history of the ranking and sits only one smash away from matching Rihanna’s record 13 rulers.
Last week, when “Risk It All” appeared only a few spaces beneath the summit, Mars was still tied with Mariah Carey, who claims 11 No. 1s. Rihanna, Mars and Carey are the only artists to rack up double-digit leaders, though Taylor Swift is not far behind with eight to her credit.

Bruno Mars Scores Another Long-Building Radio Smash
“Risk It All” reaches the top spot roughly four months after debuting on the Radio Songs ranking, and only a few months after “I Just Might” surged to the highest space. The first single from The Romantic would go on to rule the radio rundown for 21 weeks. It stands alone as the fourth-longest-running No. 1 in the history of the chart.
Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” share the all-time record with 27 frames in the loftiest rung. The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” which owned the honor for nearly half a decade, held on for exactly half a year – 26 weeks.

Mars claims two spaces on the Radio Songs chart this week, and both of his hits are present within the top five. As “Risk It All” finds its way to No. 1, “I Just Might” holds steady at No. 5. “Risk It All” reaches No. 1 for the first time on two related rosters this week. In addition to conquering the Radio Songs chart, the single climbs from the runner-up space to No. 1 on the Pop Airplay ranking. The win becomes Mars’s thirteenth ruler on the pop-focused radio tally.
“Risk It All” Holds at Its All-Time High
“Risk It All” also holds at its all-time high on two other pop radio charts. Billboard publishes three such rankings each week, and while the single conquers the Pop Airplay list, it remains steady on both the Adult Pop Airplay and Adult Contemporary rosters.
The smash holds at No. 5 on the Adult Pop Airplay tally and No. 9 on the Adult Contemporary roster, extending Mars’s dominance across multiple radio formats simultaneously.
