World Liberty Financial Wallet Moves $2.33M to Bybit

The recent price movement follows the activity of the address related to the World Liberty Financial wallet after a period of 30 days without activity. According to a recent post by Onchain Lens, the wallet transferred 39 million WLFI, which has a value of approximately $2.33 million, to Bybit. The same address was the recipient of 39 million WLFI from the World Liberty Financial wallet treasury just two days prior.

Transactions with tokens to centralized exchanges tend to draw attention since they can be used to facilitate liquidity and selling. However, the transactions themselves do not necessarily imply that WLFI was sold. Therefore, the activity of the wallet poses a supply risk rather than indicates a sale by the project or its team.

OCC Approval Adds Support for WLFI

The wallet transaction comes after the conditional approval of the national trust bank charter of World Liberty Financial Wallet by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). The approval means that World Liberty Trust can move forward with issuing and operating a USD1 stablecoin and offering digital asset custody services regulated by federal authorities. The proposed institution will neither take deposits nor give loans.

The regulatory evolution had at first served as a salient positive catalyst for the project. USD1 has also evolved into one of the major stablecoins, reportedly circulating for more than $4 billion worth. There are still some regulatory requirements that need to be met by WLFI for it to get final approval, suggesting that the charter itself is a work-in-progress element of the expansion plan.

Despite having made headway in the regulatory field, WLFI is still being probed with respect to its ownership structure and foreign investments. Reporting has touched on the $100 million investment in WLFI by Aqua1 Foundation and the potential ties to Guren “Bobby” Zhou, currently under British investigation for money laundering.
