Madonna’s new album Confessions II arrived on July 3, by which point she had already doled out three of four singles – including one promotional tune – from the project. The pop icon began this latest era with “I Feel So Free,” which dropped in mid-April, and only two weeks later, “Bring Your Love,” her collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter, arrived as the main single from the then-upcoming set.
A month before Confessions II arrived, “Love Sensation” was pushed as another promotional track, and it became a win on various dance tallies in several major nations. More recently, in an effort to turn “Love Sensation” into an even bigger hit, Madonna released a new collaborative version of the cut with fellow pop superstar Kylie Minogue.
The two women rank among the most successful and popular figures in the history of pop music in the United Kingdom. Unsurprisingly, the pair together have produced a new No. 1 bestseller.
Madonna and Kylie Minogue Debut at No. 1
“Love Sensation” debuts at No. 1 on the Official Physical Singles chart this week, bringing both Madonna and Minogue back to the summit of the sales roster. The ranking tracks the bestselling singles in the U.K. on physical formats, including vinyl and CD.
Madonna Scores Her Eighth No. 1
“Love Sensation” becomes Madonna’s eighth No. 1 on the Official Physical Singles ranking. Her most recent debut to reach the top spot was “Celebration,” which launched back in September 2009. Since then, Madonna has come very close to ruling with multiple tracks, including “Give Me All Your Luvin’” with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., “Girl Gone Wild,” “Living for Love,” “Ghosttown” and “Erotica,” all of which stalled at No. 2.

Kylie Minogue Has Charted 19 No. 1 Hits
Minogue has proved far more successful when it comes to leading the Official Physical Singles tally than Madonna. “Love Sensation” gives the Australian superstar her milestone fiftieth appearance on the roster. Of those 50 hits, 41 have cracked the top 10, and 19 — just under half of all her top 10s — have surged all the way to the summit.
Unlike Madonna, Minogue has not waited very long since she last accrued new champions. She scored two in 2025, first with “Last Night I Dreamt I Fell in Love,” her collaboration with electronic dance producer Alok, and then months later with her own “Xmas.” She also snagged a pair of new rulers in 2024.

Madonna has claimed a greater number of total hits on the Official Physical Singles chart than Minogue, with 57 appearances. Of those, 38 have risen into the top 10, while a much smaller fraction have dominated for even one stint.
Madonna and Kylie Minogue Rule Another Two Sales Charts
“Love Sensation” has already appeared on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts, but this week, the duet returns to each at No. 1. The tune has now spent five weeks on both sales-focused rosters.
Madonna Scores Her Sixty-Fifth U.K. Top 10
“Love Sensation” also debuts at No. 8 on the Official Singles chart, the main ranking of the most-consumed songs in the U.K. The original version of the track missed the roster entirely, even as several other Confessions II cuts became hits. With Minogue now on board, the British public could not stay away.
The duet gives both women another top 10 success. Minogue is now up to 37 appearances inside the highest tier, while Madonna reaches a milestone 65. Madonna ranks among the acts with the most top 10 singles in U.K. history, and she is one of only a select few performers to accumulate at least 65 appearances between Nos. 1 and 10.
