While Taylor Swift may have started her musical career in the country field, she has no issue these days racking up No. 1 hits on Billboard’s pop rankings. The company publishes three tallies each week that focus on the most successful tunes at slightly different pop radio formats: the Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay and Adult Contemporary charts.

It is on the second of those three rosters that Swift scores yet another champion, interestingly with a tune that has also become another huge win on the country tallies for the Grammy winner. As Swift claims one more No. 1, she breaks out of an important and historic tie and resets an all-time record.

Taylor Swift Returns to No. 1 on a Pop Radio Chart

“I Knew It, I Knew You” rises to No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart this week. The single pushes from No. 4 to first place, reaching the summit in its tenth frame on the list.

Taylor Swift Breaks Her Tie With Maroon 5

Swift has now racked up 16 No. 1 hits on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. Just last week, the singer was tied with Maroon 5, as both acts had collected a milestone 15 leaders. They were matched for the most champions in the history of the roster. Now, Swift pulls ahead and claims the record on her own.

Taylor Swift Also Owns the Most Adult Pop Airplay Top 10s

Some time ago, Swift also pulled ahead of Maroon 5 when it comes to the most top 10 hits on the Adult Pop Airplay ranking. Swift has sent 36 of her 55 career appearances – also a record – on the tally into the highest tier. Maroon 5 holds in second place among all acts, trailing her by eight top 10s.

20 of Swift’s songs that have cracked the top 10 have failed to rise all the way to No. 1. Two of them, “You Belong With Me” and “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades Darker),” her team-up with former One Direction singer Zayn, stalled one rung shy of ruling the roost.

Taylor Swift Has Scored Several Recent Pop Radio Leaders

In the past year, Swift has released four singles, three of which are featured on her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, which is nearing its first birthday. Two of those Life of a Showgirl cut, “The Fate of Ophelia” and “Opalite,” spent several weeks at No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. The third, “Elizabeth Taylor,” rose as high as No. 8.

“I Knew It, I Knew You” is not featured on the album. Swift wrote and recorded the track for the animated film Toy Story 5.

“I Knew It, I Knew You” Sits at No. 2 on Several Lists

“I Knew It, I Knew You” appears inside the top 10 on almost every Billboard chart where it can currently be found. The track only sits at No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay ranking, but it lands in second place on several other rosters. “I Knew It, I Knew You” is currently sitting at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, the Radio Songs chart and the Hot Country Songs tally.

The single has previously ruled both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Hot Country Songs roster. This week, it returns to its previously-established high of No. 2 on the Radio Songs roster.

The Adult Pop Airplay ranking is the first of Billboard’s three pop radio rosters where “I Knew It, I Knew You” has led the charge. The track has so far peaked at No. 6 on the Pop Airplay chart and No. 7 on the Adult Contemporary tally.
