As altcoins make a comeback following Bitcoin’s recent price surge, a handful of leading assets are leading the market. Ripple’s XRP, the 5th most valuable cryptocurrency by market capitalization, has recorded one of the most notable price surges in the last 7-days.
As shown by CoinMarketCap, the asset has soared by more than 45% over the past 7 days. More specifically, XRP is up 46.52% over the last 7 days, making it the best-performing altcoin within the top 10 category. Unseating Bitcoin and other leading Altcoins is no small feat, and data from the past 30 days reveals a 33% surge, although the asset is down 20.32% YTD.
How bullish have things gotten for XRP
In a recent post shared on X, altcoin analyst Ali Charts observed a massive spike in XRP’s network activity as active addresses soared by a whopping 654.71%, marking a jump from 47,180 to 356,070. Per the analyst, this kind of spike in network activity typically signals a sharp increase in network participation. Notably, increased network participation has historically been accompanied by higher price volatility.
Meanwhile, the XRP whale vs. retail delta has increased again. Whales’ long positions, which had initially decreased, are now increasing again. Whales derived profits after the price surge and have begun re-entering positions following a short-term decline.
Another important metric, as noted by a market player, is the on-chain activity confirmation that XRP receiving addresses have soared by more than 698%.
This includes 3 consecutive days of record Bitwise XRP ETF volumes that a market player is calling a “real accumulation.”
At the time of this report, XRP is valued at $1.42 per token, with only a mild drop of up to 2.22% recorded over the past 24 hours.
