Key Insights:
- ADA price in focus as Cardano crypto recorded six times the mainnet throughput during its first public Leios testnet phase.
- Leios handled 18 times the transactions and 3.3 times the data of real mainnet traffic.
- The Cardano price outlook remains tied to ADA price support levels and the success of further Leios testing.
Cardano crypto has recorded a major throughput gain in its first public Leios test, reaching about six times current mainnet capacity. The result could strengthen the network as activity grows, while ADA price remains tied to market and technical conditions.
Cardano Crypto Reaches Six Times Mainnet Throughput
The Cardano crypto network recorded a strong performance during the first public test of Ouroboros Leios, with the testnet reaching roughly six times the transaction capacity handled by the current mainnet.
The result was not limited to a short burst. The test continued through a 41-day phase, and during its final stable days, Leios handled 54% of all traffic reaching the chain. It processed 18 times the number of transactions seen on real mainnet traffic while carrying 3.3 times the data.
The test also gave developers a chance to find and fix problems in the system. According to the project update, every issue found during the phase came from the code rather than a weakness in the underlying protocol. Developers fixed the issues through weekly public releases.

A red team is also testing the network by trying to find weaknesses. So far, these attacks have not threatened the safety of the Praos layer. Performance fell in line with the amount of stake involved rather than causing the chain to fail.
The test is important because Cardano faces the same block space limits seen across other blockchain networks. Each block can only hold a set amount of data, while demand can rise sharply during major launches, airdrops, and market moves.
How Could Leios Help Cardano Crypto Handle Demand?
Leios was designed to increase capacity without replacing the security model used by Cardano. It works as an overlay on Ouroboros Praos, which remains the main protocol securing the network.
Between Praos blocks, Leios creates endorser blocks that can carry more transactions and validate them in parallel. Once enough stake has voted, a later Praos block carries a certificate that allows the wider batch to be accepted.
The approach could become more important as activity moves further into decentralized finance. In DeFi, delays can affect trades, liquidations, and other transactions because prices and available opportunities can change quickly.
Cardano crypto currently does not use a separate fee lane that allows users to pay more to move ahead of others. Differential pricing is still being researched. As a result, improving the speed at which the line moves could become an important part of handling higher demand.
Leios started as research presented at Crypto 2025 before becoming CIP 164. Linear Leios was later developed as a version that could be built with limited changes to the existing protocol. The update was merged on January 6, 2026, followed by a working prototype in less than six months.
MusashiNet launched on June 23 as the public testnet. Its testing phases were named after the five parts of Miyamoto Musashi’s Book of Five Rings.
ADA Price Outlook As Leios Testing Continues
The technical progress could support the longer-term Cardano price outlook, but the Leios test alone does not determine where the ADA price will trade. Market demand, liquidity, and broader crypto conditions will still play major roles.
Recent ADA price analysis showed the token moving inside an ascending channel after a correction. Another market view pointed to a possible deeper pullback toward the $0.171 to $0.157 area, which was identified as an order block and lower support zone.

If ADA price reaches that area and buyers respond strongly, the analysis suggests a possible move above the current channel and a potential upside of more than 70%. However, that remains a market outlook rather than a confirmed move.
Meanwhile, any price targets or market levels mentioned are based on technical analysis and represent potential scenarios rather than assured outcomes. For the Cardano crypto price to benefit from Leios, the network upgrade will need to move beyond testing and show that the higher capacity can work reliably under real demand. The next Water phase is already live and includes a rewards program for stake pool operators.
