NYDIG Acquisition Expands BitGo Institutional Services

The newly acquired firm gives the derivatives, structured products, financing, and capital market services to institutional customers across digital asset markets.

The acquisition creates links between these services and the custodian’s services through one one integrated and regulated system for digital assets.

According to Mike Belshe, CEO and Co-founder of BitGo, the firms would like to have reliable partners that are capable of handling the full lifecycle of digital assets.

“Institutions increasingly want to work with a trusted partner that can support the full lifecycle of digital assets,” Belshe added.

The coverage will include custody, trading, financing, settlement, and capital markets support. Belshe said the acquisition should enable the company to serve a broader group of clients.

NYDIG will now focus on the vertical integration of power generation, Bitcoin mining, and high-performance computing data center development activities.
