Ripple has pledged $300,000 in emergency aid following devastating floods in Nepal and Tibet. The funds are going to World Central Kitchen and Mercy Corps.
The company announced the donation on X on Aug. 29, stating that the money will support emergency meal distribution as well as water and sanitation efforts in those communities that have been affected by the terrible flooding.
The floods have caused severe damage in Nepal. Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, which are located close to the border with China, have been hit particularly hard by the floods.
According to World Central Kitchen, more than 100 people have been killed, and hundreds remain.
The horrifying disaster has been caused by an ice-rock avalanche from a glacier. It temporarily blocked the Lhende Khola River, a tributary of the Bhotekoshi River, before unleashing a sudden surge of water downstream.
There have also been concerns about secondary flooding after a lake formed by debris from the initial collapse.
Ripple’s charitable efforts
Ripple has a long history of supporting humanitarian and charitable causes.
In October 2025, for instance, the San Francisco-based company partnered with Water.org to fight food and water insecurity.
