Playstation 5 players in the U.S., can now stream over 100 live channels, which includes news, sports, movies, TV shows, and anime content from Amazon MGM Studios, Crunchyroll, Fox, NBCUniversal, NFL Channel, and UFC, among others.
The channels of programming are free and supported by advertising (FAST).
Here is a highlight of the lineup, broken down by genre:

Sony says that while these FAST channels are only available now in the United States, the company “looks forward” to rolling out similar offerings in Canada and eventually other unnamed territories.
Why is Sony doing this? It appears to be an effort to use its large customer base to create a competitor to things such as the dedicated ad-supported streaming platform similar to the ones offered by Samsung, Android TV, Fire TV and Roku.
Successfully launching a FAST TV platform not only helps keep users on their Playstation console when they want to watch television, it also can provide another revenue stream because Sony has the ability to see some advertising slots inside the channels.
Ironically, Sony’s line of Bravia smart televisions are powered not by a Sony platform, but by Google TV.
