  • Tokenized stock transfers reached $29.5B in 30 days, rising more than 415%, according to RWA.xyz.
  • Active addresses passed 1.3M, while tokenized stockholders climbed to 2.36M during the same period.
  • Ondo, Kraken’s xStocks and Binance’s bStocks controlled about 81% of distributed equity value.

Tokenized stock volume reached $29.5 billion during the 30 days ending August 29, according to RWA.xyz data. The total rose more than 415% from the prior period. Activity grew while Coinbase, Robinhood, Bitwise, Bybit, and Arcus added new equity products across public blockchains.

The increase marks a shift from simple token issuance toward trading, custody, portfolio management, and collateral use. Meanwhile, speculative crypto spot trading has stayed subdued during parts of 2026. The comparison places tokenized real-world assets among the few on-chain sectors showing both expanding value and measurable user activity.

Tokenized Stock Volume Reaches $29.5B

Monthly active addresses increased more than 209% to about 1.3 million. Tokenized stockholders also climbed 167% to 2.36 million. These figures show that the transfer increase did not come from value alone. More wallets interacted with on-chain equity products.

Distributed tokenized equity value reached $2.54 billion, rising 1.45%. The total stood about 637% above the $344 million recorded one year earlier. Transfer volume grew much faster than distributed value, indicating that existing tokens changed hands more frequently.

A newer RWA.xyz dashboard capture showed monthly transfer volume at $29.75 billion. It also listed 1,354,772 active addresses and 2.39 million holders. Its rolling growth rates differed from the August 29 snapshot. Since the dashboard measures moving 30-day windows, each update changes the comparison period.

The data separates distributed value from represented value and transfer activity. Distributed value measures tokenized assets placed on public networks. Transfer volume records movements between addresses, so it does not equal exchange trading volume. Transfers can include trades, settlement, custody movements, collateral operations, and movements between users’ wallets.

Three Platforms Control Most Equity Value

Ondo led tokenized stock platforms with $842.8 million in distributed value. Kraken’s xStocks followed with $609.3 million, while Binance’s bStocks held $599.9 million. Together, the three platforms controlled about 81% of the tracked market. Their combined position shows market growth stays concentrated.

At the asset level, Securitize Corp. ranked first with $163 million in tokenized stock value. Strategy PP Variable xStock followed at $136 million. Ondo’s tokenized Circle Internet Group product ranked third with $109 million. These totals measure assets distributed on-chain rather than turnover.

Platform structure also matters. Some tokens represent direct claims on shares held by regulated custodians. Others provide contractual economic exposure through an issuer. Voting rights, dividends, redemption rules, and bankruptcy protections can differ. Therefore, users must review each prospectus and jurisdiction before treating tokens like ordinary brokerage shares.

The concentration creates a clear contest over product utility. Platforms now compete through asset listings, wallet access, cross-chain movement, and decentralized finance integrations. Tokenized shares can enter lending markets, serve as collateral, or trade outside standard exchange hours. Those functions extend the product beyond passive price exposure.

Coinbase and Robinhood Add New Uses

Coinbase launched tokenized US stocks on Base on August 24 under the B20 standard. The first assets covered Nvidia, Apple, Meta, and Alphabet. Base says regulated custodian Alpaca holds the shares one-for-one within a bankruptcy-remote structure. Eligible non-US users can hold the tokens in self-custody wallets and access DeFi applications.

The Coinbase structure operates under Abu Dhabi Global Market supervision. Token holders receive direct claims governed by Coinbase’s terms and ADGM documents. Availability excludes US persons. These limits show that blockchain settlement does not remove securities rules or regional restrictions.

Bitwise launched Automated Token Portfolios one day later with Coinbase and Glider. Bitwise designs model weights, while Glider handles automatic rebalancing without taking custody. The first strategies cover Mag7X, robotics, and artificial intelligence companies. Eligible non-US users keep the underlying tokenized stocks inside their wallets.

Bitwise investment chief Matt Hougan said users can keep assets in their wallets while “the model comes to you.” The products charge a 0.15% methodology fee, excluding trading and Glider charges.

Robinhood Chain also widened access after its July 1 mainnet launch. Robinhood made stock tokens available through its wallet in more than 120 countries, subject to local eligibility. Users can access decentralized exchanges including Uniswap, Arcus, and 1inch. Robinhood says its tokens can enter lending pools or support trading collateral.

Uniswap’s combined tokenized-stock volume on Robinhood Chain crossed $1 billion by August 21. Arcus also introduced tokenized perpetual positions and let supported stock tokens back leveraged trades. Bybit separately expanded xStocks across spot markets, on-chain access, and structured products. These services connect trading, lending, and portfolio tools around tokenized equities.

Stellar and LayerZero Extend RWA Rails

The equity surge forms part of a wider real-world asset expansion. Stellar’s RWA market reached $3.996 billion on August 29, according to a Stellar-maintained dashboard. That total grew about 360% from $868.8 million at the end of 2025. Stellar’s figure covers several asset classes, not only stocks.

Tokenized US Treasuries, private credit, public credit, and non-US government debt contributed to Stellar’s total. Spiko led issuers with $1.55 billion. Realiz, Tradable, Franklin Templeton, and Ondo each held more than $500 million. Stellar also hosted about $490 million in tokenized non-US government debt by August 20.

Institutional projects support that growth. Tradable plans to bring up to $1 billion in private credit assets onto Stellar. DTCC also plans to connect its tokenization service to the network during the first half of 2027. That service could support Treasuries, index funds, and shares from companies within the Russell 1000.

LayerZero provides another part of the RWA infrastructure. Ondo uses its interoperability protocol to move tokenized equities from Ethereum or BNB Chain into Hyperliquid’s HyperEVM. The bridge burns tokens on the source network and mints native versions on the destination. This design avoids creating separately wrapped copies.

Ondo Global Markets offered more than 260 tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds when LayerZero described the connection in May. The platform had passed $850 million in locked value and $17 billion in cumulative volume. HyperEVM users can pair tokenized spot holdings with perpetual futures for hedging or market-neutral strategies.

This activity contrasts with slower trading across speculative crypto markets. VanEck reported that Bitcoin’s trailing 30-day spot volume fell 27% by mid-August. It sat near levels associated

with the 2023 bear market. Tokenized equities still carry custody, liquidity, pricing, and regulatory risks. Their transactions connect blockchain systems with existing financial assets.
