Wyoming has adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve for Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), adding near-real-time onchain verification to its reserve transparency framework. The move expands LINK’s role in the state-issued stablecoin’s infrastructure.

The Wyoming Stable Token Commission said Chainlink Proof of Reserve will verify FRNT reserve data onchain while The Network Firm examines reserves and supply under AICPA standards. This creates complementary financial and blockchain-based checks. For users, the benefit is greater visibility between formal reporting periods.

The Commission already publishes daily attestations, but LINK’s system makes reserve information independently verifiable onchain. LINK describes Proof of Reserve as automated verification for assets backing stablecoins and other digital assets. That addresses a central concern: whether circulating supply remains adequately backed as usage changes.

GENIUS Act Rules Set Monthly Reserve Disclosure Baseline

The GENIUS Act requires permitted payment stablecoin issuers to publish monthly reserve and supply reports with independent examination. Wyoming is combining that federal baseline with daily attestations and near-real-time onchain verification. The approach could matter as stablecoins expand across payments, trading, and tokenized markets.

For regulators and institutions, timely reserve information can improve monitoring of backing and operational risks. For FRNT users, it offers a way to verify reserve information without relying solely on periodic documents. The development also shows how public-sector issuers may use blockchain infrastructure to strengthen accountability.

The adoption builds on Wyoming’s migration of FRNT to LINK’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, or CCIP, as its exclusive cross-chain infrastructure. LINK’s August records also show FRNT added to its Cross-Chain Token standard. The combined strategy links cross-chain movement with reserve verification.

The Commission is also adopting LINK Proof of Reserve Secure Mint, designed to require verified reserves to meet or exceed token supply before new FRNT can be minted. This can address issuance-related risks by adding a reserve condition to minting. It does not, however, eliminate custody, liquidity, governance, or reserve-quality risks.

Secure Mint Adds Reserve Checks Before New FRNT Issuance

Anthony Apollo, executive director of the Wyoming Stable Token Commission, said the system provides “transparent, verifiable confirmation” that FRNT is fully backed. Johann Eid, chief business officer at LINK Labs, said the move shows governments can deploy “fully-verifiable onchain financial infrastructure.” Their comments underline the institutional focus of the initiative.

For LINK, the development strengthens its public-sector use case. For Wyoming, it tests whether FRNT can combine government oversight with blockchain-native verification. The next step is Secure Mint implementation and continued reserve reporting, allowing users and institutions to assess whether transparency keeps pace with FRNT’s growth further.
