Today’s Wordle Etymology
“Joist” comes from Old French giste, meaning “beam” or “support,” from Latin jacere (“to lie”). The idea is literally a beam that “lies” horizontally to support a floor or ceiling.
Today’s Wordle Bot Analysis: Wednesday, September 2
Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordle score with Wordle Bot right here.
HAIRY wasn’t a bad guess (I used it because I had just watched the new Harry Potter TV show trailer) but wasn’t a great guess. Thankfully SLATE slashed my remaining words down to 4 and FOIST left me with just JOIST and MOIST. MOIST was too obvious, so I went with JOIST. Lucky for me, that was the Wordle!
