Every week we have a bunch of shows returning to air, though few that star extremely busy movie stars. Now, one has returned with a sometimes-overlooked series that, for this season at least, has racked up a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes review score.

The actor is Glen Powell and the show is Chad Powers, his Hulu series, which has now returned for a second season. It’s a rare series that has managed to get out two seasons in less than one year, but with the caveat that there are only 6 episodes per season, and they are only around 30 minutes long. As I said, Glen Powell is a busy guy.

Season 1 of Chad Powers didn’t score nearly this well, with a 60% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and an 84% audience score (so far, season 2’s audience score is 95%), so clearly there have been upgrades, including what some are calling a slightly more serious tone. Though that’s relative in the world of Chad Powers.

If you want to count this as its own thing, a 100% score for this season would be Glen Powell’s highest-scored project of all time, beating out the 96% of Top Gun: Maverick in which he played a supporting role and was his big breakout moment. Before Chad Powers season 2, Powell has struggled a bit. He played Fox McCloud in the 42% scored Super Mario Galaxy Movie. He led How to Make a Killing and The Running Man, which had scores of 45% and 61%, respectively. He has, however, starred in the 95% rated Hit Man, one of the best Netflix original movies, and, despite lower scores, was opposite Sydney Sweeney in the explosive box-office hit Anyone But You. So he’s still doing just fine.

There is no word on a potential Chad Powers season 3 yet, but co-creators Powell and Michael Waldron have previously said they have a 3-season plan for the series, so it stands to reason that it will be renewed for a final push rather than cut short. Again, this is three total hours for a season, it’s hardly the biggest production in the world, and as of season 2, it’s racking up great review scores.

Glen Powell will go from here to a number of new projects with five movies either in pre-production, already filmed or in post-production. He’s also reportedly attached to some interesting projects like an adaptation of Game of the Year Winner Expedition 33, though nothing is official there yet. Chad, meanwhile, may be back in a year for the last time.
