WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event 2026 Results For Baron Corbin Vs. Lil Yachty

Lil Yachty, technically speaking, has secured his first victory in his first match in WWE.

All the rapper-turned-manager needed to do at Sunday Night’s Main Event was last five minutes in the ring with Baron Corbin, and that’s exactly what he did. In what essentially amounted to a high-stakes game of tag, Yachty was able to evade Corbin for the full five minutes and secure his buddy Trick Williams another shot at the WWE United States Championship.

Here are the key highlights of Yachty vs. Corbin at WWE SNME:

• Yachty immediately clocked Corbin with a microphone before the bell rang. He tried to get a quick pin but only got two and then went to the outside in an attempt to evade Corbin, who followed and quickly attacked.
• Corbin tossed him into the ringside barrier then cleared off the announce table. Two of Yachty’s entourage members tried to save him, but Corbin took them out quickly. Corbin sent Yachty back into the ringside area, and Yachty pulled out a kendo stick from underneath the ring and blasted Corbin with it.
• Yachty continued to assault Corbin, who cut him off with a massive clothesline. Corbin hit the Deep Six on one of Yachty’s buddies followed by the End of Days on the other. Yachty leaped off the top rope with a hurricanrana and then hit Corbin with a crossbody block as the crowd fired up.
• Yachty charged Corbin, who hit him with the End of Days and then laid a beat down on the popular rapper. Corbin hit yet another End of Days and glanced at the clock, realizing he still had time left. Corbin got a table from under the ring and set it up in the ring with 30 seconds to go.
• Corbin put Yachty on the top rope and attempted a superplex, but Yachty hit a low blow and forced Corbin to fall onto the top rope. That was enough to survive the five-minute time limit.

Next up? Corbin vs. Williams for the US title.

• Immediately after, Corbin choke slammed Yachty through the table, and Williams made his way to the ring for his US title match as the crowd went berserk.
• Williams vs. Corbin immediately started as Williams blasted Corbin with two kicks and a clothesline to the outside. “Whoop That Trick” chants echoed throughout the arena as Williams checked on Yachty. That allowed Corbin to send him crashing into the steel ring post and then toss Yachty over the barricade.
• Williams recovered, and back inside the ring, hit a flying clothesline and flapjack. He leveled Corbin with a massive chop followed by a sitout Attitude Adjustment of sorts. Corbin knocked Williams off the ring apron, then smashed Williams into the steel steps.
• Back inside, Corbin grabbed a rest hold, Williams fought out of it and then Corbin regained control with a big clothesline. Corbin landed a nearfall and then grabbed another hold. Williams fought out of it, and the two stars took each other out with a double clothesline.
• Williams hit a neck breaker but ran right into a chokeslam for a close two-count for Corbin. Williams responded with a Book End as he fired up the crowd. He missed a Trick Shot and then got hit with a Deep Six for another nearfall.
• Williams was able to hit a running bulldog, then Corbin sent him shoulder first into the ring post.Corbin grabbed the United States Championship, but Yachty emerged and grabbed it. That distraction allowed Williams to hit the cyclone boot for a very close two-count.
• With the ref distracted, Corbin nailed Williams with the title, but Williams shockingly kicked out as the crowd erupted again. Moments later, Williams reversed out of an End of Days attempt and hit Corbin with the Trick Shot. That was enough for the 1-2-3. Williams is the new United States Champion.

WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event 2026 Results: What’s Next For Baron Corbin And Trick Williams?

It was reported that Corbin’s US title win was designed to lead to “bigger and better things” for Williams, one of WWE’s hottest acts in 2026.

Instead, Williams seemingly remains stuck in a midcard championship feud with Corbin, which feels like a waste of Williams’ tremendous talents. Aside from Oba Femi, there hasn’t been a main roster call-up in recent memory who connected with WWE’s fan base so quickly, and Corbin should be working with bigger stars on SmackDown’s roster.

After all, the blue brand has plenty of those. With recent additions like CM Punk, Gunther and Finn Balor as well as the returns of Randy Orton and Kevin Owens, there are plenty of booking options for Williams that would elevate him to those aforementioned bigger and better things.

The problem is, Williams doesn’t necessarily fit into a feud with any of those stars at the moment, so for now, he appears to be continuing as an upper midcarder and the US Champion. Williams really doesn’t need the US title, though, so that’s another potential condundrum as well.

Although Corbin may be entitled to a rematch after WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event, it’s time for everyone involved, but especially Williams, to move on.
