Palantir Technologies and Nebius Group announced a strategic partnership Tuesday that makes Nebius Palantir’s preferred sovereign AI infrastructure partner.

After an integration period, Nebius compute and inference endpoints will sit inside Palantir’s enterprise environment, allowing eligible customers to run AI models while retaining control over their data, compute and models.

The companies also plan to bring new compute capacity online faster, including modular data centers at locations where power is already available.

Nebius Already Has More Than $40B in Commitments

Nebius said in August that customer commitments had climbed above $40 billion as demand for AI capacity continued to outstrip supply.

Its second-quarter revenue surged 454% year over year to $582 million, while the company signed four large AI-cloud contracts averaging more than $1 billion each.

Nebius also raised its 2026 contracted-power target to 5 gigawatts.

That infrastructure can now potentially serve Palantir’s commercial customer base.

Nebius has already become a major infrastructure supplier to Big Tech.

Microsoft signed a roughly $17.4 billion five-year infrastructure agreement with Nebius in 2025.

Meta followed this year with a $12 billion committed capacity deal, plus access to as much as another $15 billion of compute.

Nvidia has also invested $2 billion in Nebius and later disclosed an approximately 9.3% stake. Coinpaper previously tracked that Nvidia investment.

Palantir’s Commercial Business Is Growing 149%

The timing makes sense from Palantir’s side too.

Palantir’s U.S. commercial revenue jumped 149% year over year to $764 million in Q2.

The company closed $2.13 billion of U.S. commercial contract value during the quarter, up 153%, and raised full-year U.S. commercial revenue guidance to more than $3.42 billion.

Coinpaper recently covered that revenue acceleration, which has helped push expectations around Palantir’s enterprise AI business much higher.

The Nebius partnership gives those customers another option for running models without depending entirely on traditional hyperscale clouds.

That is where the “sovereign AI” angle matters.

Companies increasingly want tighter control over sensitive corporate data, models and infrastructure rather than sending everything through a closed external AI service.

Recent surveys show digital infrastructure sovereignty is becoming more important as companies worry about geopolitics, cyberattacks and supplier dependency.
