Circle Brings USDC, EURC to Nu’s 140M-Customer Global Payments Push

Circle is bringing its USDC and EURC stablecoins to Nu Global, giving Nu’s more than 140 million customers access to dollar- and euro-denominated balances through its international payments service.

The integration will support Nu Global’s multi-currency account in more than 35 countries, allowing users to hold and move dollars and euros through stablecoins. The partnership aims to make cross-border transfers faster and easier for Nu customers.

Nu Global Expands Cross-Border Access

Nu launched Nu Global as part of its expansion beyond its Latin American base. The account lets customers convert deposits into USDC or EURC and hold balances in dollars or euros.

USDC balances earn 3.50% APY, while EURC balances earn 2.20%, according to Nu. Customers can also send and receive money across more than 35 countries through the service.

The rollout will initially cover Europe and Latin America, with Nu planning integrations in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and the U.S. in the coming months.

Stablecoins Power International Transfers

Nu Global will also offer a virtual Mastercard for international spending and allow customers to hold and trade selected cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Nu reported more than 140 million customers in its latest quarter, with quarterly net income exceeding $1 billion.

The Circle integration gives Nu Global stablecoin infrastructure for cross-border transfers as the company expands its international services.
