Dog-themed cryptocurrency Shiba Inu (SHIB) is now associated with more than 1.8 million addresses across Ethereum and Shibarium, highlighting its multi-chain ecosystem.
The milestone was highlighted by long-time Shiba Inu community member Mazrael, who was reacting to a recent report that Shiba Inu was closing in on 1.7 million holders, with data from Etherscan showing the total holder count for SHIB to be 1.689 million.
Mazrael noted that Shiba Inu’s growth should be measured across all chains it is present on rather than relying on a single-chain figure.
“We are MultiChain. Shiba is everywhere. You need to add holders on all chains. With Eth and Shibarium alone we are actually above 1.8m addresses,” Mazrael wrote.
Mazrael shared a screenshot from ‘ShibWallet’ which showed a holder count of 1.84 million for SHIB across Ethereum and Shibarium.
Other Shiba Inu ecosystem tokens also have a footprint across Ethereum and Shibarium: BONE has a total holder count of 98,600; LEASH has a holder count of 53,800, while TREAT has a total holder count of 4,700.
Ethereum remains Shiba Inu’s primary home while Shibarium, the project’s Ethereum layer-2 network, has increased the ecosystem’s on-chain footprint. Counting addresses across both networks therefore provides a broader picture of SHIB’s presence.
SHIB price
Shiba Inu fell for four straight days this week before rebounding from a low of $0.000005 on Friday as the broader crypto market rebounded, with traders looking past growing expectations of a Federal Reserve rate hike following the latest inflation reading. The consumer price index rose 0.4% in August month over month and 3.4% year over year, matching Dow Jones estimates.
Shiba Inu is currently extending its rebound from Friday’s low, reaching a high of $0.00000539 early Saturday.
Friday’s recovery saw SHIB rise to a high of $0.0000054, but bulls could not sustain the price increase. Shiba Inu rose near this barrier, reaching $0.00000539 early Saturday. A sustained break above $0.00000540 will be watched for Shiba Inu’s recovery to continue.
