The Pitt, Hacks and Widow’s Bay are among the top nominees vying for top honors at the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards, which will be handed out Monday night at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
The HBO Max medical drama The Pitt led the nominations for the 78th annual celebration with 25 nods when they were announced on July 8, while the comedies Hacks (HBO Max) and Widow’s Bay (Apple TV) were next with 24 and 19 nods, respectively.
The celebration for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards began on Sept. 5 and 6 with the announcement of 102 winners at the Television Academy’s annual Creative Arts ceremony, which largely honors the craft categories and documentary nominees.
In addition, legendary director and actor Rob Reiner won a posthumous Emmy for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for The Bear, while Betty Gilpin took the Guest Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy for Widow’s Bay. In the Drama category, Shailene Woodley won for Guest Actress for Paradise, while Ernest Harden Jr. was honored for Guest Actor for The Pitt.
This year’s Creative Arts Ceremony also included the winners for the supporting categories for the Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category, with Emmys going to two DTF St. Louis stars: Linda Cardellini winning Outstanding Supporting Actress and David Harbour taking Outstanding Supporting Actor.
Of this year’s top overall nominees, Widow’s Bay earned the most Emmys at the Creative Arts ceremony with eight statuettes, while The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny won seven Emmys.
What Time Does The 2026 Primetime Emmys Ceremony Begin And Where Can I Watch On Free TV And Streaming?
The ceremony for the 2026 Emmys begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on NBC and will stream on NBCUniversal’s Peacock digital platform.
For viewers who don’t subscribe to Peacock, the platform offers the ad-based Peacock Basic tier for $12.99 per month or $129.99 per year, as well as the ad-free Peacock Premium tier for $19.99 per month or $199.99 per year.

Who Is Hosting This Year’s Emmys Ceremony?
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay, who won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series in 2006, will be hosting the 2026 Emmys.
Hargitay won two Emmys at the Creative Arts Emmys on Sept. 5 for My Mom Jayne, a documentary that chronicles the life and tragic death of her mother, Hollywood icon Jayne Mansfield. At the ceremony, Hargitay accepted trophies for Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program, as well as Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special for being one of the documentary’s producers.
