World has begun rolling out World Money in more than 150 countries, bringing stablecoin balances, global payments, virtual accounts, trading, yield programs and Mini Apps into a self-custodial financial app.
Existing World App and World ID App users can carry their credentials into World Money. The app supports balances across eight currencies and includes World username transfers, portfolio tracking, price alerts, a Morpho-powered Earn function and Mini Apps such as Kalshi, Credit and Morpho.
Access is not uniform across the rollout. World says features and eligibility vary by country, with some functions supplied under third-party terms. Bridge-linked virtual accounts are available only in supported regions and require identity checks, while Earn is limited to selected countries. In the U.S., Stripe’s Apple Pay funding flow is beginning to roll out, and World lists a Kalshi Mini App for event contracts.
Virtual Accounts Convert Paychecks Into Stablecoins
World’s virtual accounts predate the new app. The company said in December 2025 that the feature, first piloted in the U.S., had expanded to Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and countries across Latin America.
The current setup separates the bank-account rail from the self-custodial wallet. For a U.S. dollar virtual account, Lead Bank receives the transfer, Bridge converts the funds to USDC, and the stablecoins are deposited into the user’s World Wallet on World Chain. Those accounts support paycheck and employer deposits, but person-to-person bank transfers are not supported.
Local virtual accounts follow different rules. Ripio provides accounts in Argentina, Colombia and Mexico that convert local currency into supported digital assets, but those accounts do not accept paycheck or employer deposits. Creating an available virtual account requires a know-your-customer review.
Users can separately send supported digital assets to another World Money user by username, subject to country availability. That payment function does not turn the virtual account itself into a general person-to-person bank-transfer service.
Morpho Supplies the Yield
World Money’s Earn feature routes supported assets including WLD, USDC, wrapped ether and wrapped bitcoin into onchain lending programs selected by Morpho. The displayed annual percentage yield is variable, and withdrawals can be delayed by onchain liquidity and protocol conditions.
World’s support documentation says the onchain programs carry smart-contract and market risks. World ID-verified users may receive promotional boosts on the first 1,000 WLD and 1,000 USDC deposited, but rates and rewards can change.
Self-custody also places account-access responsibility on the user. World says it cannot access or reset a user’s password or passkey. If a user loses the original device without having saved a login method, the account cannot be restored through support.
World Money is offered by Tools for Humanity, not a bank. World says digital assets in the app, including stablecoins, are not government-insured, while investing and Earn programs can result in loss of principal.
