Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase exchange, has once again made a bullish long-term projection on Bitcoin. This time round, he expects the digital asset to reach $400,000 by 2030, a different version from his prediction in January.

Despite the outcome of the CLARITY Act, Armstrong said the evolving regulatory landscape and many other catalysts will help propel BTC to climb to this level. His core message has remained unchanged, as he believes Bitcoin has not only a short-term position, but also a long-term transformation based on the way the global economy functions.

He bets on the asset hitting $400k

In a podcast shared today, the manager optimistically predicted that the token could reach $400,000 by 2030, in the next four years. In the course of these years, long-term institutional adoption, regulatory progress, halving (and scarcity), and macro debasement will gradually spark new interest and investment in the asset, expanding its value (and standing) in the market, he explained.

The fate of the CLARITY Act is still unknown, as its vote is scheduled this week. Despite the outcome, Armstrong believes that clarity is coming for the digital asset market. He said even though the CLARITY Act fails to gain approval, the CFTC and SEC are prepared to continue shaping crypto rules. In either way, the CEO remains confident that clearer rules are coming for the US crypto market, which is set to benefit from a more defined regulatory framework.

Based on the second factor, the executive believes institutional confidence in the crypto market has evolved substantially in recent years, driven by supportive regulations. According to him, over the next four years, institutional adoption of Bitcoin will continue to expand, fueled by companies buying the asset at a remarkable rate. Currently, spot ETFs are purchasing Bitcoin at 20 times higher than daily mining, revealing strong demand. This is supported by ongoing regulatory developments, as he stated.

Lastly, as per his comments, the macro debasement will heat up as years evolve.  Together with the impact of halving and supply scarcity, the coordinated intervention will send BTC higher.

BTC found bottom, now in price discovery

In his reflection, Armstrong noted that Bitcoin already found its bottom of this cycle when it dropped to $58,000 in late June. Moving ahead, the price may not rapidly surge, but could rather rise slowly under conditions where the market is in, he pointed out.

While the CEO’s view has shifted from his initial prediction in January, his bullishness in the flagship cryptocurrency has remained the same. Early this year, the manager revived his $1 million Bitcoin thesis, driven by regulatory progress and institutional adoption.
