CME announced on September 21 that it plans to list Bitcoin Cash futures on October 19, subject to regulatory review.

The exchange will also launch futures for Uniswap (UNI) on the same date, expanding its crypto derivatives lineup beyond assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP.

For BCH, however, the announcement has been followed by a particularly sharp move. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is trading around $352 on Tuesday after a sharp 24-hour rally of roughly 33%.

The coin has now gained roughly 63% over the past week, rising from the low $210s–$220s to around $353. The rally pushed BCH to a multi-month high for the first time since May 2026.

Why the CME Listing Matters for BCH

CME futures give institutional traders a regulated venue to hedge or take exposure to crypto prices.

The new Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures will join CME’s existing single-asset crypto futures for Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Solana, Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche and Sui.

CME’s crypto futures and options averaged 279,800 contracts per day in the first half of 2026, representing $8.3 billion in daily notional value. The exchange also says its newer altcoin futures have generated more than $1 billion in combined notional volume.

For BCH, the planned listing potentially gives the token access to deeper institutional participation and additional derivatives liquidity.

The timing has also caught traders’ attention because BCH was already showing signs of strengthening before the latest move.

Can BCH Reach $500?

Despite the rally, BCH remains far below its historical peak. At around $340, the token is still roughly 90% below its December 2017 all-time high of $3,785.82. That leaves plenty of room between current prices and the previous record.

For now, traders are focusing on a nearer-term target.BCH has broken above a descending trendline, signaling a potential shift in momentum.

Trader Nehal has identified the $500–$530 area as the next major upside target. At $500, BCH would be roughly 40% above the current price. A move to $530 would represent an even larger gain.

Why This Matters

Adding Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) futures to CME list gives institutional traders regulated tools to hedge altcoin exposure, potentially deepening liquidity and reinforcing traditional finance’s engagement with the crypto derivatives market.

Yet, for BCH traders, the immediate question is whether the token can hold its breakout and push toward the $500–$530 zone. If momentum fades, the recent 33% surge could face a much tougher test.
