On Monday, September 21, 2026, MyNewsLA.com reported that a California federal judge sentenced the former girlfriend of a self-styled crypto “godfather” to a year and a half in prison for concealing more than $2.6 million in income tied to her ex-boyfriend’s fraud scheme.

Iris Ramaya Au, 37, of Irvine, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge Percy Anderson, who also ordered her to pay $1.48 million in restitution. As part of the sentence, Au must forfeit a collection of luxury and high-performance vehicles, designer handbags, and three sculptures, among other seized assets.

Au pleaded guilty in Los Angeles federal court in March 2025 to filing a false tax return. According to her plea agreement, her former boyfriend, Adam Iza, ran a scheme from 2020 to 2024 in which he fraudulently gained access to advertising accounts and lines of credit issued by Facebook Inc. and Meta Platforms Inc., then sold access to those accounts, generating millions of dollars in unreported income.

Iza, 26, formerly of Beverly Hills and Newport Beach, pleaded guilty in January 2025 to federal charges of conspiracy, wire fraud, and tax evasion. He is scheduled to be sentenced next month in downtown Los Angeles. Iza is already serving a 15-year prison sentence stemming from a separate case involving an attempted Bitcoin robbery and a kidnapping in Connecticut in August 2024.

Court documents state that at Iza’s direction, Au established shell corporations and opened bank accounts under those entities’ names. She then used illicit funds funneled into the accounts to pay roughly $1 million to former Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies whom Iza had allegedly corrupted.

Prosecutors said the funds were also used to purchase or lease luxury real estate, vehicles, jewelry and clothing, and to cover nearly $10 million in recreational expenses for the couple, as well as to acquire $16 million in cryptocurrency for Iza.

Au admitted in her plea agreement that between 2020 and 2023, she transferred more than $2.6 million from the shell company accounts into her personal bank accounts without reporting the income on her federal tax returns.
