To support the network upgrade and hard fork, Binance announced that it will suspend deposits and withdrawals of tokens on the Base network at about 17:00 (UTC) on September 30, 2026.

The trading of tokens on the Base network will not be impacted, as Binance will handle all technical requirements involved for all users.

Deposits and withdrawals for tokens on the Base network will be reopened once the upgraded network is deemed to be stable, without a separate announcement.

About Base’s Cobalt upgrade

Base’s Cobalt upgrade brings improvements to the B20 token standard, allowing users to pay transaction fees in B20s, schedule multiplier updates, transfer blocked simplification, and new Union and Intersect policies. It also introduces validity transactions, while Dynamic Upgrades brought about by the Cobalt upgrade introduce an Ethereum smart contract that stores upgrade timestamps for Base nodes, allowing nodes to query the contract and apply changes live.
