Zcash ETF has seen explosive growth in trading volume since the launch of Grayscale’s spot fund for ZEC on August 25, 2026. The total amount of investment inflows into Grayscale’s Zcash ETF amounts to around $306 million, while its assets have been estimated at $996 million on September 25 based on SoSoValue data. Nonetheless, the amount of the newly added funds accounts for less than one-third of the total asset base of the fund.

Grayscale Zcash ETF Grows as ZEC Holdings Increase

Grayscale Zcash ETF, which has a ticker symbol of ZCSH, has grown tremendously in just a few weeks since its debut. In early September, the total assets under management of the fund had exceeded $500 million, underscoring the fast-growing exposure to ZEC through a regulated vehicle.

But the growth in the assets of the fund does not consist only of the money invested by the investors. That is because Grayscale already had the ZEC tokens before the launch of the ETF.

Furthermore, Grayscale indicated that about $ 100 million of ZEC is being contributed by DCG International Investments. The contribution of ZEC will help to increase the holdings of the fund.

Therefore, the approximately $1 billion in the value of the Zcash ETF will be influenced by many elements like new investments, holdings of ZEC, and the market value of the underlying asset.

Zcash ETF Inflows Lose Momentum

The most recent flow data reveal that there has been a slowdown in the rate of investments in recent times. There were no net inflows to Spot Zcash ETFs in the past three days on September 23, 24, and 25.

This came immediately after an impressive first week for the product and was followed by a massive outflow at the beginning of the next week. The Spot Zcash ETFs have seen their largest outflow in a single day so far on September 28, amounting to about $8.12 million.

However, the sum total of all withdrawals aside, ETFs for Zcash are estimated to have around 3.75% of the circulating supply of ZECs. This shows that exchange-traded funds have an increasingly prominent place in the wider market of Zcash.

ZEC Price Gains Help Lift Fund Assets

However, the difference between the cumulative inflow and the total assets reflects the effect on the price movement of ZEC too.

In the case of the ETF holding physical ZEC, an increase in its value may happen even in the absence of additional cash flow from investors. Indeed, the market value of the ETF holdings will rise along with the cryptocurrency price.

This is the case with Grayscale’s Zcash ETF, where approximately $306 million of cumulative investment inflows account for the increase in the total value of $996 million.

Therefore, any future movements in the price of ZEC can still affect the asset value of the fund irrespective of low ETF inflows.

21Shares Adds Another Zcash Investment Product

There is also an increase in the market that allows regulated exposure to Zcash in Europe. 21Shares announced the creation of an exchange-traded product based on the physical backing of Zcash that will be traded on the Euronext Paris and Amsterdam stock exchanges.

Trading of the above instrument started in September at the rate of a 2.5% annual fee.

Considering that the Grayscale Zcash ETF has reached the $1 billion mark in assets, and 21Shares is making ZEC available to European investors, regulated financial products are becoming increasingly present in the Zcash space.

What follows next for the ETF will be determined by the return of new money from the investor community or the growing influence of ZEC market performance on its assets. Future flow data for the ETF should provide more insights into demand after a quick growth in the first month.
