Ethereum price is trading at $2,690, up by 1.6% over 24 hours, as derivatives exposure contracts and spot demands turn ETH prediction bullish. Can ETH clear resistance, or will a pause in ETF buying keep the market boxed in? The answer depends less on leverage rebuilding than on buyers defending nearby support.
Open interest in ETH derivatives has fallen to 12.49 million ETH, its lowest level since March 1, and is down 1.46 million ETH since ETH’s recovery began in early July. Perpetual futures taker buying has also remained mostly negative since last week, a sign that active traders remain cautious.

Spot ETF flows add a near-term complication: September 29 brought $2.81 million in net outflows, ending a seven-session inflow streak. Yet whale accumulation and the week’s earlier ETF demand offer a counterweight. The setup is a consolidation, not a confirmed breakout. Can spot bids absorb further selling?

Ethereum Price Prediction: Can ETH Hit $3,000 This Week?
At $2,690, ETH sits inside the recent $2,657.09–$2,737.26 intraday range. Support is concentrated around $2,657–$2,680. A sustained hold there would preserve the current range; losing it would weaken the structure and raise the risk of another leg lower.
Overhead, $2,722–$2,822 is the main resistance zone. A decisive move through that band could open a test of $3,000, but the market has not confirmed that path.
- Bull case: support holds, spot demand returns, and ETH clears $2,822, putting $3,000 in view.
- Base case: price remains range-bound while ETF flows and futures positioning reset.
- Bear case: a sustained break below $2,657 invalidates the near-term consolidation thesis.
Declining open interest may reduce forced-liquidation risk, but it does not create demand by itself. For another view of ETH’s demand catalysts and levels, see this Ethereum price analysis.

LiquidChain Targets Early-Mover Interest as Ethereum Tests Key Levels
ETH has held near support, but a move from $2,690 to $3,000 would still require buyers to overcome resistance and restore follow-through. That is meaningful upside, not an unlimited runway.
For traders looking beyond a large-cap range, early-stage infrastructure offers a different risk profile and considerably less price history.
LiquidChain ($LIQUID) is a Layer 3 project positioning itself as “The Cross-Chain Liquidity Layer,” combining Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana liquidity in one execution environment.
Its features include a Unified Liquidity Layer, Single-Step Execution, Verifiable Settlement, and a Deploy-Once Architecture: developers deploy once and access all three ecosystems.
The presale itself is priced at just $0.014961, with $980K already raised. Staking is also offered at a high 1200% APY, only for presale buyers.
