Fortinet (FTNT) stock touched a fresh all-time high of $182.09 on Thursday. Shares were trading around $181.68 at last check.
That puts the stock just 1% below its 52-week high. It’s been a wild ride higher for the cybersecurity company this year.
Over the past 12 months, FTNT has climbed 108%. That’s more than double for anyone holding since last October.
The rally comes with a market cap now sitting at $131.13 billion. Fortinet’s gross profit margin stands at a healthy 80.2%.
Some analysts think the stock has run too far too fast. InvestingPro’s Fair Value model flags Fortinet as one of the more overvalued names in the market right now.
Still, the numbers behind the move are hard to ignore.
What’s Driving the Rally
Fortinet’s last reported quarter showed billings up 33% to $2.37 billion. That beat Rosenblatt’s estimate of $2.14 billion by a wide margin.
Revenue grew 26% to $2.05 billion, also topping expectations. Product revenue was the real standout, jumping 52% to $773 million.
Firewall refresh cycles and growing demand for AI security tools appear to be fueling that growth. Enterprises keep spending on network protection even as budgets tighten elsewhere.
Wall Street took notice. Rosenblatt bumped its price target to $195 and kept a Buy rating.
Stifel raised its target to $175, pointing to the stronger-than-expected results. Scotiabank followed with a target of $163, citing the billings strength specifically.
TD Cowen stayed bullish too, setting a $215 price target. The firm expects 18% year-over-year revenue growth in the back half of 2026, ahead of consensus.
Not every analyst is fully on board, though. Cantor Fitzgerald reiterated a Neutral rating with a $185 target, a more cautious stance than peers.
Earnings and Acquisition News Ahead
Cantor’s note came alongside commentary on Fortinet’s acquisition of Virtue AI. The deal adds enterprise AI security capabilities to Fortinet’s portfolio.
It’s a space the company has been building out as AI adoption spreads across corporate networks. Security for AI systems is becoming its own category.
Investors won’t have to wait long for the next data point. Fortinet confirmed it will report third quarter 2026 financial results on October 28.
The call is set for 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time that day. Management will walk through results and take questions from analysts.
A replay and supplemental slides will be posted to Fortinet’s investor relations site afterward. The company typically shares CEO and CFO prepared remarks there too.
For now, the stock’s climb to record territory keeps Fortinet in focus heading into that report. The next print will show whether the growth trends from last quarter carried through.
