Trader Symba, an analyst who posts as @Nebulabsxyz, weighed in on the technical setup. He said LINK is undergoing a sharp pullback, with a high chance price tests the rising trendline support around $12.70 to $13.00 before finding a bounce.

Symba added that if the trendline holds, LINK could recover toward $14.00 to $14.50, followed by a retest of the recent high near $15.50. He called $12.70 the key level for bulls to defend.

Technical Levels and Open Interest

LINK traded at $14.451 on October 2, up 0.56% on the latest four-hour candle. The token has held above $14 support since retreating from its late-September peak.

The four-hour relative strength index read 52.27, pointing to a modest positive bias but a mostly neutral momentum. The MACD line sat at 0.048, below its signal line at 0.083, with a negative histogram of -0.035.

A move above $15 resistance could open the path toward $16. Holding $14 would keep the current consolidation structure intact.

A failure to hold $14 could bring the $13 area back into play. A deeper drop could test support near $12.20, a zone that triggered a rebound in September.

Chainlink’s derivatives market saw trading volume fall 21.53%, with turnover reaching $589.69 million. Despite the drop in volume, open interest rose 0.08% to $771.91 million, showing outstanding contract exposure stayed largely flat.

CCIP 2.0, released at the end of September, added new security features to Chainlink’s cross-blockchain interoperability protocol. The upgrade is tied to the growing asset tokenization sector, where Chainlink has positioned itself as an infrastructure provider.

Chainlink is up 18% year-to-date, outperforming Bitcoin, which remains down 5% for the year. The CCIP 2.0 launch triggered a 10% single-day price jump for LINK when it was announced.
