TRUMP team wallets moved 81.87M tokens worth $249M to major exchanges, while 718M TRUMP remain under team control.
Wallets linked to the TRUMP token team transferred 81.87 million TRUMP tokens during eight months. On-chain data from EmberCN indicates that the transfers went to centralized exchanges such as Binance and OKX. The tokens were worth about $249 million, with an average transfer price of $3.04.
TRUMP Team Moves Millions of Tokens to Major Exchanges
The transfers mark a major shift from wallets affiliated with the token’s team. But exchange deposits do not necessarily mean that the tokens were actually sold.
The maximum supply of the TRUMP token is 1 billion. The creators and CIC Digital allocations make up 800 million tokens, or 80% of the total supply.
According to EmberCN’s tracking, the team still controls about 718 million TRUMP. This is 71.8% of the total supply and has an estimated value of $1.49 billion.
This means that the reported 81.87 million tokens are approximately 8.2% of the total supply. The transfers are thus part of the team’s 800 million token allocation.
The $249 million valuation is compared with the average transfer price of $3.04. In the meantime, it is not possible to determine actual selling activity based on wallet transfers to exchanges.
Large Remaining TRUMP Allocation Keeps Supply Data in Focus
The team’s remaining balance is still much higher than what’s been transferred. As a result, traders who are tracking available wallet supply may need to keep an eye on future wallet movements.
The creator and CIC Digital allocations are released in a scheduled manner by TRUMP. There are multiple allocations with varying lock periods and vesting periods spanning several years.
According to current tokenomics data, there are still more TRUMP tokens to be released. The remaining supply will be expected to come into circulation in the future through unlock events as per the schedule.
Furthermore, when tokens are sold by recipients of an exchange transfer, the transfer can impact liquidity in the market. The data available does not, however, prove the team’s intent in each specific instance of a transfer.
Recent transfers have also included transfers to other custody addresses. In the incident, 7.904 million TRUMP were deposited into OKX via BitGo and another custody wallet.
These transactions highlight the continued relevance of blockchain monitoring in the context of monitoring large token holders. Public wallet data can show transfers prior to their ultimate market final destination.
What the Remaining 718M TRUMP Could Mean for Supply
The 718 million TRUMP balance reported is a substantial portion of the project’s total supply. This means that transfers may be closely monitored in the future if tokens are heading towards exchanges.
But wallet activity does not necessarily constitute selling. Tokens can be transferred from exchange to exchange, custodial to non-custodial wallet, and vice versa without placing any immediate market orders.
These movements also have to be understood in the context of the TRUMP token’s allocation. The supply was split between creators and CIC Digital at 80%, and public distribution and liquidity at 10% each.
As a result, investors following TRUMP can keep an eye on the team wallets and exchange deposits. This information can give insight into the shifting balances of tokens and possible token transfers.
