Dext has launched Dext Payments in Canada, bringing supplier invoice and employee expense payments into its AI-powered bookkeeping platform.

The feature is available to Canadian customers using QuickBooks Online and Xero, including those in Quebec. Canadian businesses and their advisers processed more than $2 million during beta testing, according to the company.

Canada is the first market outside the UK to receive the feature. Since its UK launch in February 2026, businesses there have processed more than £16 million through the platform.

Dext Payments connects invoice capture, processing, approvals and payments in one workflow. Users can import invoices awaiting payment from QuickBooks Online and Xero, create single or batch payment runs, route them for approval and submit payments without leaving Dext.

The Canadian offering supports Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), Bill Pay and Interac at launch, with EFT Pre-Authorized Debit expected to follow. Multi-currency support also allows businesses to pay suppliers in currencies beyond Canadian dollars.

“Canada is a significant market for Dext, and launching Payments here is an important step in our growth beyond the UK,” said Sabby Gill, CEO of Dext.

For accounting and bookkeeping practices, the feature aims to reduce time spent chasing approvals and switching between systems while providing clearer oversight of client payments.

Dext delivers the payment functionality through a partnership with Airwallex, with security features including authentication controls and transaction audit trails. The company says virtual cards and spend cards are also on its product roadmap.
