CleanSpark Bitcoin Holdings continues to gain the attention of many with the move of the Georgia Bitcoin miner to change its reporting schedule while, at the same time, increasing its concentration on data center development.

This was communicated in an announcement made by the company this past Friday, where CleanSpark made it known that it would stop giving out its monthly updates and begin giving out quarterly updates instead. This follows the company’s September mining results, where it mined 529 BTC.

CleanSpark Bitcoin Holdings Fall in September

As of the end of September, CleanSpark Bitcoin Holdings stood at 13,530 BTC, after the company sold 702 BTC as of the end of August. This is a decline of 173 BTC in its total Bitcoin holdings.

During the month of September, CleanSpark generated 529 BTC, amounting to an average of 17.64 BTC daily. The maximum daily generation of BTC for CleanSpark was 18.99 BTC.

It was stated that CleanSpark sold two BTC at spot rates while exercising calls in order to sell an additional 700 BTC. CleanSpark noted that it was able to sell BTC at an average price of $72,928 per BTC.

Changes in CleanSpark Bitcoin Holdings occur within the context of the continued management of the revenue from the company’s mining operations. The company’s treasury position consists not only of newly mined BTC but also of other operations.

At the end of September, CleanSpark had 199,745 miners operating at its facilities. The miners consumed 808 megawatts (MW) out of the 1.8 gigawatts (GW) total contracted power capacity at CleanSpark.

These figures indicate that Bitcoin mining continues to play a key role in CleanSpark’s activities despite an increased focus on data center construction by the firm.

CleanSpark Secures Funding for Sandersville Data Center

CleanSpark Chief Executive Officer Matt Schultz stated that the company’s data center in Sandersville, Georgia, has been entirely financed through completion. This news came after the closing of $2.276 billion senior secured notes at an interest rate of 7.875%.

According to Schultz, the financing ensures that the funds required to complete the project have been attained without any further issuance of shares for the same.

The initial leasing arrangement of the Sandersville project with a subsidiary of Meta is estimated to earn around $6.6 billion.

While CleanSpark focuses on Bitcoin mining, it is venturing out to provide mining services for artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing in its upcoming data centers. This is according to comments from the company’s CEO, Matt Schultz.

Bitcoin Price Decline Puts Mining Stocks Under Pressure

Bitcoin is trading around $83,000 after dropping below $81,000, resulting in more than $1 billion worth of liquidations in the crypto market. This trend puts pressure on mining firms, especially with higher production costs.

CleanSpark’s Bitcoin holdings depend on the price of Bitcoin, whereas the data centers’ construction might diversify its income sources. Investors will be paying attention to the progress of the project and expenses associated with it.

CleanSpark Bitcoin Holdings Remain a Key Metric for Investors

Moving to quarterly reporting by CleanSpark will reduce the number of updates regarding mining performance and Bitcoin holdings. CleanSpark Bitcoin Holdings are an important indicator in terms of evaluating the extent of the company’s Bitcoin exposure and the changes in the treasury.

Nevertheless, it is also necessary for investors to take into account such factors as the debt level, cash flow, and operational expenses. The development and the potential of the Sandersville data center will also matter.

CleanSpark Shares Extend Their Recent Decline

CleanSpark’s stock declined more than 2%, extending its streak of losses for the fifth consecutive session after touching an all-time low since April. Sentiment from Stocktwits was neutral after having been bearish previously, while analysts’ price targets indicated more than 124% upside potential.

The company is currently juggling between two key aspects, and that is continuing with its Bitcoin mining operations and expanding its data centers. The most recent funding round is geared towards supporting the construction of the Sandersville site, while the September figures will give insight into the mining output and treasury movements.

As quarterly statements replace monthly statements, the focus will be on providing more information about CleanSpark Bitcoin Holdings, mining performance, and data center development.
