Crypto markets enter the week of October 12-18 with Bitcoin near $83,000 and Ethereum around $2,500. Several scheduled events could move prices.

Economic data will lead the week. ETF flows, token unlocks and industry conferences may also affect individual assets.
ETF Flows Start the Week on a Weak Note
Institutional demand has cooled. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs took in $21.1 million on October 9. Total flows over the prior five sessions were still negative by about $679 million.
BlackRock’s IBIT accounted for $22.4 million of the latest inflow. Ethereum funds are in a weaker spot.
Spot Ether ETFs lost $56.1 million on October 9. That marked nine straight sessions of net outflows.
Those nine sessions saw about $697 million in withdrawals. They included $201.9 million on October 6 and $160.9 million the next day. Net inflows since launch still total about $13.3 billion.
U.S. CPI Leads the Economic Calendar
The most watched event comes Wednesday, October 14. The U.S. will release September Consumer Price Index data.

Economists expect annual headline inflation near 3.7%. Core inflation is forecast near 2.5%. Treasury yields are already elevated.
The report offers another look at inflation before the Federal Reserve’s late-October meeting. Crypto has been sensitive to shifts in interest-rate expectations.
A reading above forecasts could push Treasury yields higher. Softer inflation would change how the market views future Fed policy.
Thursday brings more data. The U.S. will publish Producer Price Index figures and retail sales numbers. These cover wholesale inflation and consumer spending.
Global policymakers will meet in Bangkok for the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings from October 12-18. The IMF will publish an updated World Economic Outlook on Tuesday. Energy prices, government debt, inflation and the Middle East conflict are expected to dominate talks.
Aptos faces a supply event on October 12. The scheduled release includes about 11.31 million APT. It also ends the four-year investor and contributor vesting cycle, and monthly releases are set to fall sharply afterward.
Arbitrum follows on October 15. DefiLlama tracks about 92.65 million ARB set for release, worth roughly $17.5 million. Recipients include investors, team members, contributors and advisers.
Derivatives traders have Friday, October 16 marked. Deribit data shows about $1.25 billion in Bitcoin options open interest and $247.5 million in Ether options open interest tied to that expiry. Those totals can change before settlement.
Paradigm Frontiers runs October 12-14 in San Francisco. EDCON 2026 takes place October 17-18 in Kuala Lumpur.
The week’s main scheduled event is Wednesday’s CPI report. Thursday’s inflation and retail sales data, Friday’s options expiry and the Aptos and Arbitrum unlocks round out the calendar through October 18.
