TLDR
- Solana trades near $107, about 64% below its January 2025 record of $294.
- Reaching $500 would require a gain of roughly 367% and a market cap near $295 billion.
- Solana ETFs saw $24.8 million in net outflows last week, ending 14 straight weeks of inflows.
- The Alpenglow upgrade targets mainnet in October 2026 and aims to cut finality to about 150 milliseconds.
- DeFiLlama shows about $6 billion in total value locked and nearly $16 billion in stablecoins on Solana.
Solana (SOL) is trading around $108 on October 13, 2026. The token remains about 64% below its January 2025 high of $294.

At this price, Solana has a market cap of about $63 billion, with roughly 589 million SOL in circulation. A move to $500 would lift that figure to about $295 billion if supply stayed the same.
That would be a gain of about 367% from today’s level. It would also put SOL roughly 70% above its previous record.
Network Activity and Adoption
DeFiLlama reports about $6 billion in total value locked across Solana’s decentralized finance ecosystem. The network also holds nearly $16 billion in stablecoins.
Decentralized exchanges on Solana processed about $11.5 billion in transactions over the past seven days. High volumes do not always lead to higher SOL prices, especially when speculative tokens drive the activity.
Analyst Satoshi Flipper said on X that traders should be buying SOL near $110. He described the SOL/USDT 8-hour chart as showing a textbook retest of previous horizontal resistance, which has now turned into support.

If you’re not buying $SOL here @ $110, do you even crypto?

His view points to the $110 area as a level buyers have defended. The price now sits just below it.
Investors are also watching whether Solana can produce steady fees and application revenue. Growth in those areas could support a higher valuation over time.
ETF Flows and the Alpenglow Upgrade
US-listed spot Solana exchange-traded funds give traditional investors exposure to SOL without holding the token directly. Demand through these products has cooled recently.
Solana ETFs recorded about $24.8 million in net outflows during the week ending October 9. The withdrawals ended 14 consecutive weeks of inflows.
On the technical side, the planned Alpenglow consensus upgrade aims to cut transaction finality from about 12.8 seconds to around 150 milliseconds. It has reached testnet and devnet.
Mainnet activation is targeted for October 2026. Faster settlement could help Solana’s appeal for payments and financial applications, though it does not guarantee more demand for SOL.
Bitcoin’s performance and US monetary policy also matter for SOL. Lower interest rates and better liquidity have historically encouraged investors to add exposure to higher-risk assets.
Ethereum and other blockchains continue to work on lower costs and better scalability. Solana must show its ecosystem can keep activity up when markets are weaker.
The latest data shows the ETF outflows and the approaching Alpenglow mainnet target as the two developments in focus.
