Ethereum (ETH) is regaining its status as a crowd favorite among crypto traders. Despite a weekly price dip, key institutional metrics, whale accumulation, and surging social sentiment suggest that smart money is quietly positioning for an upside breakout.

According to Santiment data shared on X, Ethereum’s social volume is heavily weighted toward optimism, recording 2.05 bullish comments for every bearish one, firmly placing ETH in FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) territory.

Santiment points to a rebound above key support, staking demand, and optimism around upcoming network improvements as the key drivers of positive sentiment.

The shift in sentiment and flows is happening while Bitcoin and XRP traders turn cautious.

  • Bitcoin (BTC): Slipped to a 0.82 bullish ratio following repeated rejections near $87,000, a drop toward $81,000, and long liquidations driven by macro pressures.
  • XRP: Plunged into FUD territory with a 0.92 bullish ratio after dropping over 9% across the week and failing to reclaim the $1.40 level.

Whales Dump Bitcoin for ETH, ETFs Rebound

While retail traders monitor short-term price fluctuations, with ETH dipping 0.9% over 24 hours and 4.1% over the week to trade near $2,520, on-chain data points to robust capital accumulation.

According to data from analytics platform Lookonchain, a mysterious whale has been executing an aggressive capital rotation from Bitcoin into Ethereum. Over a three-day span, the address liquidated 1,074.36 BTC (~$89.5 million) to purchase 36,159 ETH (~$90.6 million).

This institutional confidence is reflected in spot ETF flows. Data from SoSoValue confirms that US Spot Ethereum ETFs broke a 10-day streak of net outflows on October 13, recording $24.84 million in net inflows—the first positive daily influx recorded since September 28.

Analysts Eye End-of-Year Ethereum Rally

The combination of institutional inflows and whale interest has energized market forecasters. Investor and analyst Ted Pillows said on X he expects ETH to return to around its previous all-time high before the end of the year.

Why This Matters

Social sentiment, ETF flows, and large-wallet activity are all pointing toward ETH while BTC and XRP sentiment weakens. That divergence shows where trader attention is concentrating.
