HYPE Price is attempting to stabilize after retreating from its September highs, with traders watching whether the current recovery can develop into a stronger rally toward a new all-time high.

As of press time, HYPE price is changing hands at $80.14, with the latest four-hour candle showing a gain of 0.33%, according to the TradingView chart. The token is still below its previous all-time high of $98, and derivatives data indicate that open interest remains above $3 billion.

HYPE Price Tests a Recovery Around $80

The four-hour TradingView chart shows HYPE bouncing back from recent lows near $76–$77. The token has climbed back above the middle Bollinger Band at $78.81, suggesting improving short-term price momentum.

The upper Bollinger Band is at $80.55 and forms immediate resistance, while the lower band is positioned at $77.07. A sustained push above $80.55 could reinforce the recovery, but a rejection might drag HYPE back toward the lower end of its recent trading range.

Can HYPE Price Clear $86?

The chart reveals resistance around $86.35, a level that could gain importance if buyers manage to lift HYPE past the immediate $80.55 barrier. A clean break above $86.35 would improve the technical picture, although HYPE would still need to overcome further resistance before approaching its previous ATH of $98.

To the downside, $78.81 is the first level to monitor, followed by the $77.07 Bollinger Band and the recent lows near $76. A sustained break below the $76–$77 zone would weaken the short-term recovery setup.

What Does the CoinGlass Data Show?

Based on the supplied chart, CoinGlass data put Hyperliquid’s open interest at roughly $3.2 billion on October 20. Open interest has stayed elevated even as HYPE pulled back from its September peak, showing that substantial derivatives positions remain open despite the price decline.

High open interest can magnify price moves in either direction, particularly when leveraged positions are involved. Without the latest funding-rate and liquidation figures, the open-interest chart alone cannot establish whether traders are predominantly bullish or bearish.

How Does Trading Volume Influence HYPE Price?

The CoinGlass volume chart provided indicates that trading activity fluctuated over the course of August, September, and October. Volume rose sharply amid HYPE’s August rally, yet the most recent price recovery has not clearly shown a comparable increase in trading activity.

As a result, stronger trading activity serves as a key confirmation signal. A break above resistance backed by rising volume would offer stronger evidence of sustained demand than a price gain on its own.

Could HYPE Price Hit a New ATH in Q4?

On X, CoinGecko reported that HYPE jumped 40.5% over four days in Q3 2026 following news that Donald Trump had announced Michael Selig was working to bring Hyperliquid to the US market. The report also pointed to HYPE’s subsequent climb to an all-time high of $98.

CoinGecko’s report highlights the scale of HYPE’s previous rally, stating that the token surged 40.5% in four days. That performance provides context for the current recovery thesis, though the earlier catalyst does not guarantee another record will follow. HYPE first needs to clear nearby resistance and show stronger buying pressure.

At present, the technical picture is still mixed: HYPE is rebounding from recent lows, but resistance around $80.55 and $86.35 sits between the current price and a potential move toward $98.

A sustained recovery above these levels would strengthen the bullish case, while a break below recent support could expose HYPE to further downside. Cryptocurrency markets remain highly volatile, and traders should watch price action, market sentiment, and upcoming catalysts before making any investment decisions.
