Robinhood UAE Expansion has commenced after the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) approved the firm’s retail investment platform for DIFC.

Robinhood (NASDAQ: HOOD) will commence operations in the Middle East in 2027, offering services that will allow local investors to invest in traditional securities and cryptocurrencies via their platform. Besides that, it should be noted that the announced launch takes place against the backdrop of Bybit crypto exchange, which is examining the opportunity to enter the U.S. market. While Robinhood is ready to open its offices in Dubai, Bybit is developing new financial products.

What the Robinhood UAE Expansion Approval Covers

The Robinhood UAE Expansion was approved by DFSA for providing trading and custody services in 10 asset classes, including stocks, ETFs, cryptocurrencies, and investment tokens.

Robinhood will be operating from DIFC, with Salah Kaddoura taking charge of Robinhood’s Middle East operations. It is expected that the expansion of the business in the region will take place by 2027.

Speaking on the matter, Vlad Tenev, the CEO of Robinhood, appreciated the global financial hub status of Dubai and emphasized that DIFC would provide an ideal location for expanding into the region.

Robinhood UAE Expansion came after the company’s launch in Singapore in April 2026 and the acquisition of Canadian cryptocurrency company WonderFi in June.

Robinhood had about 28 million users in 38 countries as per reports in July.

Robinhood UAE Expansion Faces Growing Competition in Dubai

The Robinhood UAE Expansion is occurring as Dubai continues to see investments and crypto firms. The DIFC had 72 licensed brokers as of March 31, 2026, indicating stiff competition.

Revolut, Baraka, eToro, and Interactive Brokers are expanding their footprint in the region, posing stiff competition to Robinhood.

The Robinhood UAE Expansion may prove attractive to investors because it offers conventional investments, cryptoassets, and investment tokens on the same platform.

This strategy will help Dubai achieve its ambition of being a global finance hub. However, the available Robinhood services will be dependent on the plans Robinhood will come up with.

Bybit Explores a Possible US Market Entry

With Robinhood preparing to launch in the UAE, Bybit is said to be exploring US expansion through an existing brokerage platform. CEO Ben Zhou has neither confirmed the launch date nor the name of the partner firm, with Interactive Brokers being one of the unconfirmed possibilities.

Bybit has opened its international headquarters in Dubai and got a VARA licence for spot exchanges. Bybit is looking to get more licences including that of derivatives.

Here we can see that the two firms are adopting contrasting approaches, with Robinhood targeting the UAE while Bybit looks forward to the US.

Bybit Expands Access to US Stocks and ETFs

On October 12, Bybit rolled out stock and ETF trading, providing access to over 1,000 US-listed stocks via USDC.

Order execution and custody of securities are provided by Alpaca Securities, whereas Infra Capital Limited (regulated in Mauritius) serves as an introducing broker.

The product is not accessible to Americans, allowing eligible users in eligible markets to trade American stocks.

Unlike stock CFDs introduced in June 2025, the product is intended to allow direct ownership of eligible stocks based on its terms.

This illustrates the trend in which cryptocurrency exchanges move into traditional markets, such as the Robinhood UAE Expansion.

Robinhood Chain Adds to Its Blockchain Strategy

The Robinhood UAE Expansion is related to the company’s blockchain strategy. On July 1, 2026, Robinhood announced the public release of Robinhood Chain mainnet based on Arbitrum.

This strategy is connected with its tokenization projects for stocks and DeFi.

This strategy will complement the Dubai launch of Robinhood, which will involve cryptocurrencies and tokens besides traditional assets.

Nevertheless, the product line of Robinhood in the UAE will be determined by its launch plans and regulations.
