  • PEPE was turned back again at the resistance that has capped it since late September.
  • Friday’s spike came with the heaviest buying volume in about a month.
  • The token still trades comfortably above its long-term moving average.
  • A daily close above resistance remains the signal buyers have not delivered.

The PEPE price fell to around $0.00000442 on Saturday, October 24, losing 13.26% in 24 hours after a Friday spike toward $0.0000051 collapsed back under $0.00000462, the same ceiling that has turned the meme coin away for most of the past month. The drop trims an 11.11% weekly gain and leaves PEPE’s market value at roughly $1.82 billion, according to CoinMarketCap data, Friday’s jump followed an October 22 post on X in which Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong shared a Pepe the Frog image with a short motivational message, and although the post never mentioned the token, traders bid PEPE up within hours before many of them used the burst of attention to sell into strength.

Friday’s Wick Ran Into Waiting Sellers

On Binance’s daily PEPE/USDT chart, Friday printed the tallest buy-side volume bar since the late-September rally, yet the candle closed far below its high and left a long upper wick, the typical mark of a push that sellers absorbed. Saturday’s session opened at $0.00000457, reached $0.00000461 and slid to $0.00000431 before trading at $0.00000442, down 3.28% with roughly 11 hours left until the 00:00 UTC close.

About 5.68 trillion PEPE changed hands on Binance during the first half of that candle, which equals roughly 1.37% of the 413.8 trillion PEPE in circulation. The figure will keep rising until the session ends, so for now it says little about whether Friday’s buyers stayed in their positions or used the bounce to exit.

A Range Built on the Summer Rally

The Fibonacci grid on the chart stretches from the July low of $0.00000223 to the September high of $0.00000536, a climb of about 140%. Retracement levels measure how much of that run the price has handed back, and at $0.00000442 PEPE has surrendered close to 30% of it. That keeps the token in the upper part of its range, between the 0.236 level at $0.00000462, which has acted as resistance since late September, and the 0.382 level at $0.00000416, where buyers stepped in during the October dips.

Why the $0.00000380 Band Matters Most

PEPE trades 15.7% above its 200-day exponential moving average (EMA), a trend gauge that averages closing prices over the last 200 daily sessions while giving more weight to recent ones. The token reclaimed the line in late August, and October’s pullbacks stopped either on it or just above it. The average itself has only flattened after sliding since spring, which describes a recovering trend that has yet to turn into a confirmed long-term uptrend.

The EMA now sits at $0.00000382, a hair above the 0.5 Fibonacci level at $0.00000380. When two separate measures point to the same price, more traders tend to place orders around it, so a daily close through that band would weigh more heavily on the chart than a slip below any single line above it.

Momentum Faded Before the Breakout

The 14-day relative strength index (RSI) reads 55.04, above the neutral 50 mark and above its own moving average at 52.71, meaning buyers have held a modest edge over the past two weeks. The indicator briefly climbed past 60 during Friday’s spike and dropped back as the price retreated. A convincing move through $0.00000462 would normally lift RSI back above 60 and toward 65 without pushing it into overbought territory above 70, while a reading under 50 arriving together with a break of $0.00000416 would show sellers regaining control.

Volume points the same way. PEPE’s August and September advances both came on large spikes in participation, while the October attempts at resistance drew noticeably thinner trading until Friday’s session.

Two Closes That Settle the Range

Bullish path

Trigger: PEPE holds $0.00000416 and closes above $0.00000462 on rising volume.

Targets: $0.00000500, then $0.00000536.

Upside to swing high: +21.3%

Bearish path

Trigger: PEPE fails at $0.00000462 and closes below $0.00000416.

Targets: $0.00000380, then $0.00000343.

Downside to EMA band: -14.0%

What a Close Above $0.00000462 Would Change

A daily close above $0.00000462 followed by a retest that holds would turn the level that has rejected PEPE for a month into support and put the September high back within reach. If the retest fails, the move would look like another short-lived spike of the kind Friday produced. On the other side, a close under $0.00000416 would shift attention to the EMA band, and losing $0.00000380 would expose the 0.618 level at $0.00000343, close to where PEPE bottomed in mid-September.

Even a full return to $0.00000536 would value PEPE at about $2.22 billion at the current circulating supply, which still leaves the token roughly 81% below its December 2024 record near $0.000028. The weekly candle closes at the end of Sunday UTC, and with Saturday’s daily candle still forming, both closing prices will carry more weight than anything the chart shows intraday.
